question in title

He had a very strong sound on his violin. Very passionate and powerful. I’ve only been able to hear Youtube recordings of his playing, but he was great.

^ Yes! Someone else knows of the great Kogan! His powerful tone is incredible! He also manages to maintain a very pure tone, ALWAYS.

Not my favorite, but he was, nonetheless, a master. So, he still sounds amazing.

^ i don’t prefer him for every piece, that’s for sure. He has a very unorthodox style, but his paganini, shostakovich, and (surprising to me) Beethoven concerto are incredible. Too bad he died right before recording sibelius. I bet his sibelius kicks ass too :(

He just looks so…pis-ed when he’s playing.

The term is bad-ass
