It’s a dark wash one. I know the big no-no is to wear it with similarly colored jeans, but would wearing it with light colored ones be OK? What other options are there? I’d do something like the Marlboro Man but I’m not uh rugged enough to pull off the cowboy look :|

Black jeans, black t shirt, button up short sleeve shirt, jean jacket would work.

If it was light washed I would wear jeans of a similar wash.

Unless you are going with a punk look with studs and patches, there really isn’t anything you can wear with it and make it look good. I don’t know anyone that’s cool with jean jackets…maybe get a different jacket…

^I agree. I just can’t see it on a guy anymore. A girl can still get away with it and a cute sundress though. Sorry man.

I was sort of wondering the same thing, and I’m a girl. I bought a couple of jean jackets at a garage sale for 50 cents each and I was wondering what they went with. By the way, I don’t wear dresses or anything, if that matters. I usually wear printed tees ranging from dark/graphic/cutesy/nerdy. Worse case scenario, I leave them at home and I’m out a dollar.
For the record, one is dark wash and the other is sort of in the middle.

How about wearing them with a black V-neck T shirt and gray jeans?

a sundress. give it to your little sister or something lol

you’d have to have a great sense of style to pull it off as a guy. i can’t even think of a good look off the top of my head. like i’m totally blanking, and that rarely happens.

for girls though, hyperJulie, they don’t really go with any sort of denim pants (which is what i’m assuming you would wear with printed tees). i think they look best with sundresses and nice skirts. (sorry?) its just cause a denim jacket is a very stiff and distinct material and sundresses/skirts are softer, lighter materials and the two complement each other. it could possibly work with black pants or some sort of colored or printed shorts, linen shorts might be cute. the general rule of thumb though would be to pair a denim jacket with soft, flowy, fabrics and cuts that balance it out.

on the other hand there has been a recent trend of actually consciously working the mismatched denim look that is usually considered a faux pas. its supposed to be done in a sort of kitschy, defiant manner. it was all over the S/S 2010 runways.

this, however, is something very, very few people could ever pull off. and i personally still don’t like it…when even david beckham is looking questionable, it’s probably something most people should not attempt.

a rattail.

hmmm

guess my only option is to get buff, grow a beard and move to a ranch :|

Jeans and a denim button up shirt. Canadian tuxedo all the way!

Yeah…I’m pretty sure only sundresses and MAYBE some mid-length skirts would look good with a jean jacket. I’m a girl, I own two jean jackets that I’ve owned for a while, and I’ve only worn them once a year, at the maximum.

well the funny thing is I ain’t a girl nor do I cross-dress

Precisely. So…pretty much nothing then, to answer the OP.

I have a designer fitted denim jacket that has military style to it, but it is completely black and doesn’t even look like a jean jacket. If your jean jacket looks like the typical jean jacket, then nothing goes with it.

this is ********, why would they sell these things if nothing goes with them? I’m determined to find something that works with it, I paid good money for the jacket.

Jean jackets shouldn’t be worn past the 90s.

I can’t come up with any solution, for a guy, that would make it look okay.

Maybe use Google images or lookbook.nu and see if there are any photos of someone wearing one where it still looks good.

Please return it! … just because we both live in Maryland and I don’t ever want to see a guy wearing a jean jacket :(

If you’re a guy, nothing looks good with it.
If you’re a girl, nothing looks good with it.

In conclusion, jean jackets don’t even look good hanging up on a rack.

but then why do they still sell them?
