What chance do I have for these schools?

Universities I want to apply to: University of Virginia, University of Maryland, Penn State, Rutgers, and University of Illinois.

What kind of chances do I have for these schools and their engineering programs? The way I viewed this was UVA as a reach, Maryland/Illinois as a match, and Rutgers/Penn State as a safety.

Personally, I would put UMD as a safety as well. Your stats seem pretty good, and I would say UVA and Illinois are matches. I think that you deserve more credit than you’re giving yourself. Good luck!

My advice, unless you know your parents can cover the out of state tuition, you’ll want to go for a scholarship or an in-state tuition waiver. Otherwise, the tuition costs would not be worth it. If you’re going for engineering, be sure it’s an ABET accredited school.

I’m also applying for an NROTC scholarship so my hope is for tuition to not be much of a worry, however I will go to Rutgers for instate tuition if I don’t receive the scholarship. Would I have a chance of getting into these schools?
