IKEA’s down comforters. Significantly cheaper than all the ones sold elsewhere, plus a lot better and more durable.
We recently bought two My Pillow from Costco. $60 for a set of two (so a bit cheaper than Bed, Bath & Beyond’s after 20%off coupon) and I have to say that we love them. We’d been using 2 pillows each so I was skeptical that one (skimpy -looking) pillow was going to cut it, but we have both been very pleasantly surprised. I’m a believer now. There is some kind of magic in their pillows.
Also how much are a set of the My Pillows. I’m intrigued.
Sold. I can’t wait to experience said joy myself.
IKEA firm mattresses. Around $160 (can’t remember exactly) for full-size. I figured, if it doesn’t last, it won’t cost much to replace. But I’ve been sleeping on it for a few years and it looks like new.
Clear vinyl non-slip bathtub mats at the dollar tree. I will never scrub another mat. At $1 each I just throw them out and replace it.
Love my coil hose! $15 for a 25 foot that is a breeze to use and store!
Found $5 Crocs at Marshalls Clearance section.
I love my bamboo pillows. But remember pillows are a very personal preference.
Best find: my guest room double Bed in a Box. Less than $150. D2 slept on it a year.
No link. On Amazon, this sort of product often changes names and sometimes construction details.
One other mention. I love the old cheap college comforters. Surprisingly warm after years of use.
Ikea memory foam mattress. Maybe $400 for a queen. Absolutely the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. Two years on and it still is the best mattress ever.
I love Suave clinical strength deodorant. It’s all I have used for years and about half the price of the “name” brands.
I found a pillow at JC Penney a few years ago that I like. It is memory foam (shredded, I think) and the shape of a normal pillow. It is similar to this one:

@privatebanker , I love those hoses! My H tore a hole in ours by pulling it across the sidewalk.
Do not pull these hoses across anything but grass. They are so lightweight and wonderful to pick up and carry around the house, but you do have to be careful.
Oh I thought of something else. For some reason I bought socks at the grocery store…they were No Nonsense white cotton ankle socks, and are my favorite socks in the world. Every time I’m there I check for them but haven’t seen the exact same ones.
Not to be picky (really!) but some of these are “good buys” instead of cheap finds. I think the idea is that something you bought because thinking it was a lesser product at a lesser price is actually as good or better than something that costs more $$.
So for instance the dollar store bathtub mats - at one dollar who would think they are worthwhile over a $10-15 mat? That’s a lesser product at a lesser price that works just as well or better.
If you normally pay $50 for a pillow and you buy the Costco or Sam’s pillow for $20 and it’s just as good or better - that’s a “cheap” buy that is worthwhile.
Am I wrong??
Nope @abasket , you’re not wrong… that’s exactly what I was looking for. Things that were so cheap, you thought were going to be a piece junk, but were pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be just as good, if not better, than a pricey item.
Well I thought that mattress would be junk. Plenty of neg reviews that it was too hard. But I like a hard mattress. Many said it was only good for a child’s weight. But I had a 300 lb. Friend who loved it. It’s still in great shape.
Not meaning to have anyone change or defend their post! I could just see the thread turning into the “good buy” thread.
Mattresses are expensive! If you bought one thinking it was a cheap temporary solution and you ended up using it for years - that’s a cheap solution! Like @thumper1 Big Lots furniture!
Trader Joe’s makes a Shea butter hand cream that I think is a dupe for the l’occitane Shea butter at a fraction of the cost.
I thought my $220 couch wouldn’t last…but it’s terrific!
I actually went to Big lots this week and found one for my family room. Under $400
I have a Crofton glass bowl food chopper bought from Aldi for under $10 that I thought was going to last me a year.
6 years later, the glass bowl is chipped (duct-taped to prevent cuts) and the plastic lid cracked but the motor is going strong and it still chops well. I love it.
I think Aldi has stopped selling the Crofton brand and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else.?
