I have a fit and flare dress I’m wearing to a wedding this summer. The pattern is a watercolor look of white, turquoise, dark turquoise, with some blues and a little green thrown in.
I wore it last summer with a white slide in sandal and didn’t like it. I think a color would pull the eyes away from the dress.
What do you think of these? I don’t typically wear straps , but I like these and they come in a wide. Or do you think I should just find a fancier white sandal…
The color of those shoes is great but I personally find that those kind of ankle straps interfere with the look of a nice long leg. The advantage of a shoe that matches your skin tone is that it elongates the leg; having a high, thin ankle strap interferes with that illusion, IMHO.
I agree…and although I’m 5’8", my legs aren’t long…I’m afraid I’ll cut it off with the strap. So what do I wear? I have nude pumps, but don’t want to wear a shoe. Models legs are generally long up to the knee, so they can get away with that.
Conmama, if you never owned this type of a sandal, you might find that it does not work well for walks longer than a few steps from the car to your restaurant table.
I love your dress! I don’t think the sandals really work with that dress, though I can’t really explain why. What about something like these? My D has a similar pair in both nude and black and gets a ton of compliments every time she wears them. She is your height and often wears dresses in that style.
I like the sandals a lot. May actually order a pair as I’ve been looking for something like this for a while! Never know what you will find on CC. LOL.
An ankle strap on a nude shoe won’t really break up the line of the leg, rather, it will blend in. It is hard to find a great nude shoe…also consider silver, anywhere from bright to gunmetal would look good with the dress. I also like cork as a nice neutral.
