What color sandal?

I have a fit and flare dress I’m wearing to a wedding this summer. The pattern is a watercolor look of white, turquoise, dark turquoise, with some blues and a little green thrown in.

I wore it last summer with a white slide in sandal and didn’t like it. I think a color would pull the eyes away from the dress.

What do you think of these? I don’t typically wear straps , but I like these and they come in a wide. Or do you think I should just find a fancier white sandal…

Thanks

I’m not a big fan of white footwear, so I think a nude such as your link would work, or maybe a silver/gold.

I agree. No white footwear unless you’re a nurse. Nude-for-you is the way to go.

Cute sandals!

I think I have my answer. Here is my dress…although it’s longer on me than the model. She has on similar sandals that I found. I like the look.

But thanks for your replies…confirmed what I was thinking.

The color of those shoes is great but I personally find that those kind of ankle straps interfere with the look of a nice long leg. The advantage of a shoe that matches your skin tone is that it elongates the leg; having a high, thin ankle strap interferes with that illusion, IMHO.

I agree…and although I’m 5’8", my legs aren’t long…I’m afraid I’ll cut it off with the strap. So what do I wear? I have nude pumps, but don’t want to wear a shoe. Models legs are generally long up to the knee, so they can get away with that.

The dress is SO pretty. I’m short, but still don’t like heels. I’d look for nude shoes with a little heel or wedges.

Conmama, if you never owned this type of a sandal, you might find that it does not work well for walks longer than a few steps from the car to your restaurant table.

I love your dress! I don’t think the sandals really work with that dress, though I can’t really explain why. What about something like these? My D has a similar pair in both nude and black and gets a ton of compliments every time she wears them. She is your height and often wears dresses in that style.

Those are very pretty! However I want heels for this.

How about this one? It looks fun, but I’m not sure how comfortable.

A nude almost flat wedge would be nice.

I like the sandals a lot. May actually order a pair as I’ve been looking for something like this for a while! Never know what you will find on CC. LOL.

They’re even on sale–must be karma! You can always return them if they don’t suit.

Yes or no?

I posted my pic above before I saw the one from Nordstrom…very similar with the side cut out.

I like the Nordstrom wedge better. I liked the first pair also.

An ankle strap on a nude shoe won’t really break up the line of the leg, rather, it will blend in. It is hard to find a great nude shoe…also consider silver, anywhere from bright to gunmetal would look good with the dress. I also like cork as a nice neutral.

This may be too casual for a wedding, but would look cute with your dress and lots of other dresses:

I have this shoe - it’s classic and goes with everything (even more so than a nude):

These are pricy, but glazed cork would look great with that dress and there is a lot out there:

I think the reptile pump is too heavy looking for that dress.
