While there are many enjoyable electives, I am more interested in hearing core classes that you enjoy. Since some schools count certain classes as core classes/ electives differently, lets say ANY math, English, social studies, and science classes count as core for this forum (including AP Stat which can count as a core and elective at my school, depends what you need more for graduation). Which core classes did you actually enjoy for at least 85% of the semester/year. I loved world history honors when I took it. The teacher was awesome and made the lessons relate to what was happening in the news (very fun since the Trump vs Hillary war was ongoing!). What about y’all?
Honors Geometry (no AP back then this was the Regents course). I had a great teacher. I was moved into the class a month after it started. I had moved to Long Island, NY from Ohio and we told them and showed them I had already had algebra. They put me in the class anyway. After a month the algebra teacher gave me the last years Regents exam and I got a 98 so they moved me to geometry. The teacher was so great helping me catch up. I enjoyed calculus too. We had an honors English class that we played a game in most of the semester. It was about life and you would have events happen to you depending on cards you drew etc. The books we read ranged from great to awful (to me) but I learned things I had never been exposed to. A lot of intercity, and ethnic readings. Chemistry had one of my favorite teachers too. Ok, I loved high school!
The thing you did in English sounds fun. I heard one of the history teachers at my school does something similar to that.
I really enjoy Honors English. Right now we’re reading Romeo and Juliet and my teacher is absolutely hilarious in his explanations.
I also really like Honors Biology. My teacher is really nice and he explains things perfectly. I also have the most friends in that class.
Thank you for the discussion here. Myself right now clearly remember when I was at class 9. The math teacher was funny guy. He always teaches us math using funny things. Like we are learning some natural stories.
