Most importantly they have the chance to raise kids, and the fact that in your picture only men earn money is a form of absolute sexism. But let’s continue with that picture since that’s what you wanted. Financially the man is losing out on something, but that’s only because the man is the one who agrees to do the paid work, and the woman does the “unofficial” work of raising the kids, the house…etc… and in reality it’s a mixed balance. You’d WANT to be with this woman, if a divorce happens…yes that can be rough and I agree the blanket policy of 50% is immoral.

■■■■■ or idiot. you can choose one.

This entire thread makes me sad.

If you are lucky enough to find someone - you will have someone who knows the worse about you but loves you anyway.

That’s actually up to the person. According to the existentialist author/philosopher Albert Camus, once man comes to terms with his absurd universe (an indifferent one, one without meaning), he can choose three main paths: suicide (to escape the emptiness), religion (finding meaning in a god that transcends a meaningless universe), or acceptance and even embracing. With the last choice, man is COMPLETELY free to make meaning for himself, if he wants to make meaning at all. Yes, it is possible to turn into a total nihilist, where the only things that one can know and that hold any relevance are one’s own life and death. Personally, that doesn’t work for me, buut it’s a person’s existential freedom to choose so.

They see me trollin, they hatin

^^It leads to practical and theoretical fallacies.

Women don’t get “free money” and stay at home. Why do you think we go to college? To be independent and be able to support ourselves. All of these housewives are from generations before us… In this generation it’ll be rare to see a stay at home mom.

^^What does? Specify your pronouns, man.

^Je refuse

Aw t’es pas du tout amusant. Moi je m’attendais

No speak French. No understandin dis stuff. Speak english dude, french is not cool.

epic thread, nil desperandum and countless other noobs got ■■■■■■■ hard by the T/S

Francaisalamatt, when one is given the freedom to arbitrarily create meaning, one is assuming that there is no absolute meaning, so this arbitrary meaning is simply a self-deception. Also, you ASSUME (yeah this is bad
) that people have rights to do anything they please such as create meaning for themselves (not a terrible assumption, but it’s still quite a strong claim).

Frankly, (bad pun intended, (your username)) I don’t have the time to discuss philosophy over the internet–I’m a very important person :D.
On another note, whenever someone refers to Albert Camus, I am led to think of a large, flightless bird (can you guess which?).

That’s called The Absurd.

It’s not a right, it’s a freedom. And they do, as long as they deal with the consequences, and take full responsibility. That’s what existentialism IS. You exist, therefore you have the freedom to choose, and therefore YOU take responsibility for YOUR actions.

Bahahaha. I wonder if the Francs were known for being especially blunt?

I personally think of a camel, but, er, no XD

EDIT: As for the “assuming” thing, I’m working in an existentialist framework, so of course I’m going to say that. You can work in another framework if you want that takes away all of our freedom. But you know what the irony is? You’re still CHOOSING that framework, so you do still have that freedom!

Man is only free to think he is making meaning for himself, not to actually make meaning. Apparently, we are operating under different concepts of “meaning”.

It’s an emu, btw.

Es tut mir Leid. Keine Zeit habe ich.

Je n’ai pas beaucoup de temps

By meaning I mean (ha) significance and purpose, stuff like that. I don’t mean veracity.

Makes sense.

And fine, fine. Whatever :P

Your a freaking retart.

I don’t even want to get married but you sir are so f u c king dumb holy c r a p hahha get off CC please.

I don’t understand why men get married cause they’re never faithful regardless or don’t seem satisfied, but not cause of your idiotic statement.

I’m sorry I just can’t get over it.
