What do you buy at Costco?

lol!! The visual is most amusing!! [College Confidential Thong | Buy College Confidential Thongs Online | Cute, Personalized, Sexy - CafePress](<a href=“College Confidential Women's Clothing - CafePress”>http://www.cafepress.com/+college-confidential+womens-thongs)

OMG, Rofl! But Jym, you forgot the nuts!

I had a pretty bad day tending to my D who is sick. So, thanks for turning my day around! :)

Gotta leave something to the imagination, eh lilmom?? ;)

Great typo! Plus that idea of coming home with luggage… We have a saying (or rather, I do) that is “when men shop at Costco alone” because of the bizarre things that H has come with that he thinks are just great.

Turns out, most of them are just great! But would I have gotten the plug-in car refrigerator? No. And we just had to get rid of it because it stopped working last summer. I’m sure we’ll all be mourning its loss the next time we have to make do with a mere cooler on a long car trip.

Oops…I’d correct it but I can no longer edit. Oh well, glad I could give some of you a few chuckles.

My DH buys new clothes about once a decade so I usually don’t buy him clothes - always end up returning. But this past fall I came upon a tremendous buy for him at Costco - really snazzy Tumi overcoats in a black water repellant fabric with a zip out liner for 100 bucks. This is easily a 4 or 5 hundred dollar coat. He wears it all the time for business travel because it handles lots of weather and is light to pack. And nothing sticks to it like a wool coat.

Also buy the Kirkland wool socks for me.

My standard Costco list:

Big bag of frozen broccoli
Big bag of frozen berries
Big bag of frozen sockeye salmon
Big box of organic milk
Big jug of organic oj
Big carton of organic eggs
Greek yogurt
Cheeses
Big package of flank steak that I separate
Organic chicken breasts and thighs
Toiletries
Bag of Mayan onions
Cartons of oranges
Paper towel and napkins
Dark chocolate covered blueberries
Canned chicken broth by the case
Organic diced tomatoes by the case

The organic diced tomatoes are a very good buy. I’ve started buying them and appreciate always having them on hand.

I missed out! My last bag of almonds didn’t come packaged properly.

Thank you for the gift, 1214. It was unexpected endorphins.

Okay, whoever mentioned the salad mix on here that has the salad greens, goat cheese (maybe feta?), dried cranberries, and an amazing white balsamic dressing…I’m totally hooked!! Good thing for me I’ve figured out where to buy the dressing locally in a bottle so I now make the salad on a regular basis. For anyone that’s interested it’s called Girard’s White Balsamic, but it’s made by Marzetti.

They have a convenient ‘where to buy’ feature. Just enter the product and your zip code and it will tell you a local retailer. I found it at Safeway.

I’ve been getting the organic spring mix from my grocery and making this salad with dried cranberries, crumbled goat cheese (a splurge), matchstick carrots, cherry tomatoes, a few croutons, and the white balsamic. It’s unbelievable!

Article about impacts on Costco and others of becoming Amazon “showrooms”. Tough spot for real retailers. I’d be tempted to expel them from store–maybe permanently. But some honest price-shopping is reasonable too.

I have to try the Yakisoba noodles- sound yummy!

Love the raw tortillas in the fridge section. Closest thing to fresh ones I have seen. We buy our tires there, and gas too. Also love the drive-thru car wash. Buy Dodger tickets, movie tickets, and See’s Candy gift certificates- it saves a few dollars per pound of candy. Also love the Korean taco kit from the deli section!!

Wow, I was just saying the other day, “now Costco just needs a car wash”! No such thing here. Also don’t think I’ve seen tortillas in the fridge section- next to what other food items?? I’ve only bought the ones near the bread/buns.

We buy our gas at Costco. It’s always quite a bit cheaper than other gas stations. We use our Costco Amex card to get an additional 3% off.

pecans and walnuts
Pink Lady and Honeycrisp apples
Omeprazole tablets
Ibuprofen
Low dose aspirin
Cheesecake Factory cheesecake
Razor blades
Beach chairs & umbrellas
Angie’s Kettle Corn
Ghirardelli Brown Mix
Rotisserie Chicken

I didn’t know I was showrooming, but we’ve absolutely checked prices on amazon and other retailers while shopping to see if we’re getting a good price. Oftentimes Costco has things specially packaged so you’re not looking at an exact match, but you know if it’s a good price. We’d actually rather purchase from a brick & mortar, specifically Costco, that is easier to deal with returns if there’s an issue with the product. If I haven’t bothered to check the price online before I left home, I’d be foolish not to when I’m holding a computer in my hand. Retailers should expect this now.

Regarding the article about showrooming, I frequently use my smartphone to compare prices at brick-and-mortar stores with Amazon and other online retail web sites. I consider myself to be an extremely savvy shopper.

About to go order multifocal lenses at their optical dept. Best deal around.

I think I need to join Costco. DD needs contacts and I need new glasses. That should pay for the membership even though the nearest Costco is 45 minutes away. It will be an outing.

[Designer Frames & Online Eyeglasses - $95 Rx Glasses | Warby Parker](http://www.warbyparker.com) for frames and I take them to Costco for the lenses. (Warby still does not do multifocal) GOOD DEAL.

Musicamusica, how do you know the frames are a good fit for your face if you purchase them online?

It helps that we have a Warby show room near our house now. But, last year, I did order some glasses without visiting the show room. They will send you 5 pairs for 5 days at no charge, so you can try some on. It’s really great.
