If Costco can guarantee ‘upstairs’ expedited delivery for only $1299.99, I’d jump on it.
Shipping and handling for only $12.99 beats what my local funeral director charges for his services.

Ha! That’ll teach me to be lazy!

Our Costco has the caskets on display. I haven’t looked closely but they seem pretty ornate.

I know I asked the question, but for some strange reason, I am starting to giggle about the whole idea! Mom60, is “ornate” a synonym for “tacky”, or do you mean “ornate” as in looking nicer than expected?

You can truly 'shop ‘til you drop’ at Costco now with caskets right in their stores.

Ha, ha, lizard, you’re not helping me with my fit of the giggles!

Costco would be perfect for a budget wake too. Friends and family of deceased could munch and drink free store samples in the store.

jym, the casket details “includes an adjustable bed and mattress”. No disrespect, but when I’m put in a casket, I hope my family doesn’t worry or care whether I have a mattress or if it adjusts or not…I certainly won’t!

We could just load up all the elderly mourners in wheel chairs on the flat bed trolleys, use the cameras from the electronic dept. to take photos, stop at the pharmacy for everyone’s medications, the optical dept for 3D glasses, and the garden shop for the flowers.

ECmotherx2- I am definitely the wrong person to ask an opinion about caskets. If I am buried I would like a simple wood box. So anything that is shiny with gold ornaments on the corner is a bit much for me. They looked to me like the casket my mother chose for herself before she passed away. I am going to Costco next week and you can bet I will take a closer look at them.

This tread is taking a morbid turn, lol. I love Costco, but I prefer going by myself. My husband gets mesmerized at all the products (never goes shopping) and wants to buy everything. Last time I went for steaks and he wanted to buy a kayak! I sound like a broken record next to him: no, we do not need this, or that…

They had baba ganoush and eggplant salad as a one-time special. Really good. And cheap, especially if you know how much baba costs: $6.69 for over a pound.

Went to buy a chicken but they weren’t ready so bought a container of chicken salad instead. Its very good. So far 2 meals made from it and there are probably 3 more sandwiches worth left. Only $10 for the bowl.

The caskets are gone now from our Costco. I think there are garage doors there now instead for sale.

Would have loved the ganoush and eggplant special–sorry to have missed it. Very pricey at nearby Greek restaurant.

Ramen, Pizza, and Chicken Bakes!

Before we go back to Costco favorites…

Now back to Costco, DH has just been having old family slides from his dad digitized. We bought a contraption to do it, but Costco charges $0.29 per image and that was more than his time was worth. They did a good job with the first batch. Still hundreds of images to go…

We just got the coupon book for Costco yesterday and I saw they had a photo restoration service. I have a picture of my dad and his crew on his PT Boat during WWII. DH had it framed for me, but it needs to be restored. I think I may take it in. They also do VHS to DVD transfer, so I might take my wedding video in too.

Not sure if this is a new product, but picked up a 20 oz box (two 10 oz bags) of Vans ‘say cheese’ gluten free crackers yesterday. A few weeks ago I bought a large bag of GF pancake mix.

Sooooo disappointed in my Costco today.
I dropped in to pick up a container of this ready made lobster or crab dip stuff and they had NONE…they ALWAYS have it, right in the refrigerated sections by the hummus and other dips.
I was counting on it to make little crab roll up things for an appy for a party tonite…
They always go over well. NOW what at the last minute???
Grrrrr.
