Just a suggestion :), I rather like those Nancy’s quiches that are bite size. They usually sell them in the grocery store.

Good to know.
I’m bringing to a friends house, not hosting.
Maybe I can even pretend I made them?! :)

They also sell them at Costco. Check at yours so you have a back up anytime :)

nj2011mom, what do you think of the GF pancake mix? I’m finding it very dry and have gone back to the XO brand sold at HomeGoods.

Haven’t opened it yet!

I’ve gone low-carb in past 2.5 months (lost 15#!) and D1 now lives at school, so it’s still sitting on the shelf. I like GF bisquick, so that will be what I compare it to.

musicmom—I think you may be referencing the Blue Crab dips that were often offered as samples? They had a lobster one and a crab one and one other–perhaps a smoked fish. We love the lobster one and it is a summer staple but the entire line was recalled, perhaps due to listeria concerns.

Costco sent me a letter six or eight months ago notifying me of the recall and suggesting I bring remaining product to them for a refund. They have not had the product in the stores since. Here is an article I found.

[Listeria fears prompt Gold Coast Salads to expand recall - Atlanta Business Chronicle](http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/morning_call/2013/02/listeria-fears-prompt-gold-coast.html)

I lucked out today and was able to find everything on my Costco list, except still no lobster dip!

CT1417-
Yes, that’s exactly it!
I’m totally embarrassed that I missed this Listeria link to my lack of crabness at Costco!!
(Being a microbiologist).

Well I ended up subbing in some fresh shrimp cocktail.
They went over well.

Putting in a plug for a “new to me” product at Costco.

In the bread aisle, they have an item - kind of like the sandwich thins - whole grain - but they are shaped like a taco shell so they are perfect for hot dogs, brats, sandwiches, etc. A hot dog or hamburger bun always seems like a carb waste to me - often I don’t even use them - but these are a better nutritional option.

I need more hints. I’ve been to our new store 3 times and have had some really good produce but nothing else fun.

Wanted to try the pretzel rolls, but they look kind of burnt and they’re $7 – seems like a lot!

The pretzel rolls are good - the outer color is typically a dark brown. We like the cibatta rolls. Keep them in the freezer and just pull a couple out at a time. Great for homemade garlic bread.

The peaches at Costco right now are amazing… as usual.

Ok thanks abasket. When S1 comes home I’ll pick some up.

teriwtt, the BEST pineapple I have ever tasted was $2.99!!!

Yes bought three pineapples today and watermelon. Best buy today: Mancheco cheese for $14.00. It might sound expensive but this is for a whole disk. In Publix a little sliver is around $8.00.

Calimyrna figs. Yum yum yum.

Large bags of brussels sprouts; they keep forever.

Large bags of asparagus; we unpack them and put them in an uncovered upright plastic container with 2 inches or so of water in the refrigerator. They also keep a long time.

We also buy the large net bags of Babybel cheese. I love cheese but it’s terrible for dieters. The Babybel cheese is a nice little controlled portion and it’s fun to unwrap.

ddahwan—Those cheese road shows at holiday time are the best!

AllThisIsNew…have you tried the seafood? Our Costco has a seafood road show every weekend during the summer but even their Kirkland frozen scallops and frozen shrimp are excellent. They have not had the 21-25 size raw this summer so I hope they restock that soon. The Kirkland shrimp cocktail is also excellent. I don’t think much of their prepared foods, but enjoy everything we buy and cook ourselves. Chicken sausages are good. (They are not unique to Costco but Costco sells in larger quantities for lower prices.)

My only frustration with Costco (beyond the nightmare parking lot) is the inconsistent availability of some inventory. I understand when produce cannot be obtained, but many other items come and go from time to time. I was very happy to find Cracker Jack back in stock but wish they would bring the Pringles’ snack sizes back also. Happy hunting!

Brocolette, lettuce, pineapple, wonderful croissants. Discovered their shop towels while doing a home remodel and adore them- so much better than paper towels, and just one does the entire job!
Great buys on bath sheets, when they have them. Spanish Marcona almonds to die for…

New things per abasket’s request: The white peaches were sensational two weeks ago. The Honey Crisp apples were sensational when they were in season, as were the Ataulfo mangoes. These days, I’m buying Pink Lady apples.

The non-iron men’s dress shirts are great and now they have spread collar shirts as well as buttondown. They are $17.99 and are comparable to $60-$100 shirts I have bought elsewhere.

Only disappointment with Costco is that they replaced coke products with pepsi products at their fountain/food court. Blech.

I hate Pepsi and love coca cola product. Very disappointed to hear that ^^^.

I love the Kirkland smoked salmon. It comes in a two pack and I frequently freeze the second pack for later.

I also love the Kirkland moisturizing shampoo and conditioner in the big bottles with the pump. They are sulfate-free (great for people who color or keratin their hair) and smell fantastic. I put them in my beach house’s outdoor showers.

Yes, me too. After they replaced a few years ago the Kosher hot dog for their Kirkland brand (not the same taste) I stop eating at Cosco, but I would eventually buy a soda. Even that is gone now, I hate Pepsi.
