^^^^Ours often has this chicken, but not always. Either that or they put it out in the early part of the day and the packages are gone by mid-late afternoon. They use the white meat for their chicken noodle soup, chicken salad, etc. so this is a good use of the dark meat.
Greenwitch - lol about men shopping alone at Costco. Thanks to my DH we have enough powdered drink mixes to supply the neighborhood through the rest of the decade. And we don’t even drink that stuff. What was he thinking?
My DH heads for the tools and electronics…oh the things that wind up in his basket…
We have the rechargeable flashlights, too! My two year old nephew spends HOURS taking the flashlights in and out of their bases and turning them on and off when he visits. My favorite thing at Costco wasn’t there this year. Crab Rangoon! What were they thinking?
Grabbed a container of artichoke/jalapeño dip for S1’s graduation and it was a huge hit!!! Where do they keep the “brownie brittle”? With the baked goods? Or packaged?
Browning brittle is usually near the snacks, with all those other temptations.
I found it in the cookie section of BJs. Guessing it’s in the same spot at Costco.
Greenwitch-
My DH just came homre with 2 big jars of some bean salad thing. Never ever saw that stuff before. But to his credit, he ususally buys roses too.
Jym - lol, that’s a winning strategy! I can’t yell at Mr B when he shows up with a bunch of roses and some tool junk I never knew he needed!
Jym626- if it is the 5 bean salad my H loves it. At our Costco it is a seasonal item. Thinking summer.
I just saw a small bottle of the olive oil I purchased at Whole Foods for 14.99. I don’t remember what I paid for my two pack of large bottles but I know it wasn’t anywhere near 30 bucks so I consider it a good deal. I’m glad I bought two packages since last time I went and looked to purchase for a friend they were out of it.
My H loves to tell me I should buy the furniture for our family room. He doesn’t get that I might not want leather or micro suede. In his mind all that is important is that it is a good price.
I try to avoid buying anything sweet with just two of us at home. I don’t want the temptation.
One item we have purchased over and over again is the beach volleyball. My H plays a lot and he likes a new one or two each year.
You all would be the perfect people to help me. I’m going to pick up a couple of cakes and appetizers for my HS’s reunion this coming fall and I’m planning to get it at Costco. We’re having a catered dinner with several barbequed items, so I don’t want to have wings or anything like that. I’m thinking of a tray of wraps, but what else? Suggestions? We should have about 100 people.
They have great shrimp salad and chicken salad. A friend bought their mini croissants and filled them with the chicken salad. It was delish!
That bean jarred bean salad is delicious! I alternate buying that and the pickled beets in jars at Costco for a varied winter vegetable side at dinner. Great price too I believe.
How is their fresh seafood section?
^^ My DIL’s mother, who is an excellent cook, buys her salmon there. It was the tastiest fish I’ve eaten. Steelhead, not regular. I buy the tilapia both plain and breaded. Their shrimp is expensive
On fridays they have a person selling scallops and king crab legs
The Alaska salmon is very good. I try not to eat farm raised, but it’s much cheaper.
When they have it, Copper River Salmon is delicious! Have also had very good dungeness crab and mussels.
Would you recommend their sandwich platters/pinwheels? Having a bunch of family for lunch and the BBQ has died.
I have bought the pinwheels for a grad party and they went over well. Planning to get them again for other large gatherings.
