What do you love that almost everyone else hates??

And the opposite of the other thread…I’ll start.

I really do love liver and onions. No one else in my family will eat it. I have one good friend who also loves it, and we go out for it at least once a year! Yum!!

Massages!

Coffee. Baseball. Ironing. Sewing. Reading an actual paper newspaper.

Oatmeal with no sweetener.

Hard boiled eggs with no salt. I put salt in any other form of egg.
Also love liver and onions!

White chocolate, which my H constantly reminds me isn’t “real” chocolate. That’s fine because I forgot to put on the other thread that I don’t like chocolate.

Eggs over HARD–am the only one in the family who likes them this way.

Plain tap water–no flavoring, no ice, no heating needed

Gizzards, liver and heart from fowl smoked by H in the smoker–heavenly!

Beets and cabbage.

Beets are very popular in this household, as is cabbage in most varieties.

Eating lots of vegetables with a meal.

Walking up the stairs instead of waiting for the crowded, slow elevator or escalator.

I would say brussels sprouts, but they seem to be a thing these days.
Eggplant (especially Parmesan).

“Y’all” (laughed at in New England, which is too bad)

@MaineLonghorn In Massachusetts it is “youse”

This is a tough category, with some weird responses showing up:
@Wellspring, almost everyone hates coffee? It seems like a new Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks opens daily.
@raclut, almost everyone hates spicy food? In my world it seems everyone loves it, dumping sriracha and other hot sauces on everything, while I’m the one begging the servers at Indian restaurants to be sure my food is prepared “extra extra mild” so I don’t cough and choke my way through the meal.
I can’t think of one thing I love that most people hate–so I guess my tastes are entirely pedestrian.

poetry
freely improvised music
Nouveau Roman
bitter foods

Exercise.

My list is a lot like Marvin’s.

I love bitter foods, like broccoli rabe or Campari. I love licorice of all kinds, even the crazy-salty Scandinavian stuff.

I also love poetry, especially contemporary poetry.

I love natural history objects, like mounted insects and animal skulls. And 18th century medical illustrations. The Mutter Museum.

I love a lot of weird contemporary art. And a lot of other art that most people don’t like, like 17th century Dutch still lives, and Flemish portraits.

And I swear I was going to say that I like Modern French experimental literature like Michel Butor and Robbes-Grillet before I saw Marvin’s reference to Noveau Roman.

Doing laundry…and I love the challenge of getting a stain out. (I know, weird)
