What do you love that almost everyone else hates??

I love grapefruit, too. I crave it. I’ve never desegmented a grapefruit in my life; I just peel it and eat it like an orange. Lots of fiber that way. However, grapefruit is the one citrus fruit that I don’t eat the peel (okay, I have a few bites of the grapefruit peel but not the whole thing).

P.S. It does seem unbelievably luxurious to order a grapefruit from a hotel room service and to have the membrane between each segment completely removed. But I would have never done that for my kid!

I love red grapefruit, don’t always desegment.

Costco has wonderful grapefruit cups in the refrigerated section. I love grapefruit.
My other true love is blue cheese dressing. H and the rest of my family can’t stand it.

nerd fact: grapefruits originated in Barbados as an accidental cross between the orange and the pomelo, both of which are not bitter. The orange itself is a cross between a pomelo and a mandarin. :-B

Spirulina
sannakji
Époisses

@nottelling …that’s the only way my kids knew to eat grapefruit! I guess I spoiled them!

I think the only people who hate epoisses are those who buy it from an American store in which it hasn’t been handled properly and is well past its prime, into the vile ammonia stage.

I don’t know anyone who hates a perfect epoisses at the peak of its perfection from a Paris or Burgundian cheese shop. That’s akin to putting white truffles on the list.

But I will add:
Aged Riesling, with a strong petrol nose.

Savennieres
Sherry

Raw oysters!

And deviled ham. Haven’t had it in ages, but I really did like it.

WTH!?!?!?!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Now that we have sold our lakehouse, I love them too. Before, wondering if the basement was going to be flooded (AGAIN), I hated them, even though I’ve always loved thunderstorms.

We actually did finally find out what the problem was and had it fixed before we sold, just in case anyone thinks we have no scruples.

I love deviled ham and haven’t even THOUGHT of it in ages!

^^^This made me think of braunschweiger which I love and haven’t had in years.

I don’t think I’ve had deviled ham for 40 years. I wonder if it would be one of those things that doesn’t live up to the memories. That’s happened to me before, realizing my palate has changed.

We used to use “tinned meats” when we had picnics to economize on trips with our kids when we were paying off a huge mortgage on a modest salary. We had a LOT of picnics in many national parks and parking lots. My kids are definitely no longer interested in “tinned meats,” or things that remind them of those frugal meals.

@marvin100… I don’t even know what those things are. (So no idea if I like them or not!)

Spam musubi was your picnic staple?

You could be right! Lol, I’ll find out-I bought a really small tin this afternoon after posting that.

The Underwood in the white can with the devil on it? I’m awaiting your report and might do the same myself. I remember eating it on white bread with mustard and iceberg lettuce.

Yuck!!! Canned deviled ham is definitely something appropriate for this thread!

When at my SIL’s for Thanksgiving, I was given the task of making deviled eggs (which I love). I was handed a tin of deviled ham to add in. Hmmm. I split the mixture and only added it to half. Not everyone likes deviled ham.
