I have a love/hate relationship with labels…for one, I would never buy bags that aren’t at least sort of designer (juicy couture, coach, etc) because I just hate those nasty PVC bags you find at stores like Target or Payless (or on the streets). It’s mainly because I go for the leather and I have a…sort of obsession with having my things last forever (or the illusion of forever), and I’d like to think that if I treat my bags well, they will last me for a long time. However, I also sort of have periods of time where I hate labels because I feel that if you carry a monogram LV or Coach, you look like a pretentious walking advertisement. Bags (and sometimes clothes) are supposed to look like works of art, not billboards. Today, i bought a cute little white bag…nothing really designer, just a lesportsac shoulder bag, and then on impulse i decided that I was sick of labels and so I took acetone and dissolved the little white lesportsac labels that ran across the bag. It was pretty stupid but I don’t know, labels kind of make me…insecure. But at the same time I personally have to know that when I bought it, it was expensive. I don’t know what I’m trying to say, so I guess I’m asking: what do you think of labels.

I don’t pay attention to them.

I don’t pay attention to them either.

I love those random, artsy independent brands. They always have the coolest tee shirts. Labels are okay but not really my thing; and I hate the thought of spending $400 on, like, a bag.

I have a label-maker and it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought with $20. Now I can run around printing out labels and sticking them on things! Like bananas named “tasty,” or cinnamon sticks called “For Dad” =)

Brands, though…yeah I don’t pay attention, I buy all my purses at Target. Which is cool because then they get holes in them and I don’t have to keep the same one for more than a few months.

I would rather have a cheap [insert designer here] for Target bag (like Anya Hindemarch for Target, lots of designers do it now) than Juicy Couture or Coach. Most Juicy and Coach bags seem cheap and classless to me, and I don’t want to waste my money on them. I’d rather save up and spend a bit more money for a lot higher quality at a Gucci sale or for a Furla bag.
I do have a lot of Coaches - 3 or 4, I forget- but I got them when I was younger and I didn’t know very much about purses. Coach is mall-quality designer. Sure, it’s a step above Dooney & Burke, but who really wants Dooney & Burke? No, I can’t afford Hermes (okay, I did just buy one of their scarves, but I mean a Birkin of Kelly, and those start at about $6,000 and can cost over $100,000), or most LV (since LV never goes on sale. Ever.) but I can afford a high-quality bag from a lot of designers, so I’d rather not waste my money on Coach.

Disclaimer: There are some really nice, classy Coach bags.

I don’t like bags with labels, but I love leather bags from urban outfitters. You get the quality and style without the tacky lable.

On a side note, I do have a Dooney and Bourke bag from 8th grade and it is truly disgusting. It’s like hot pink and shaped like a bowling bag, but I loved it then…

i like the old coach leather bags… [Coach Official Site - CITY BAG](http://www.coach.com/content/product.aspx?product_no=1504&category_id=1605) like this in the darker brown or w.e. im not really into labels. if i want a cool shirt, ill make it myself. the shirts/jeans i get the most complements on are the ones that i did or that one of my friends printed. in terms of bags, im not a huge fan of the newer style coach, d+b, or juicy, the just seem kind of mallchic.

If the Target bags have good quality, then I would definitely buy the Target bag and not my Coach bags. But the thing is, Target/Old Navy/brandless bags suck. They rip and get dirty easily. I don’t like the thought of spending 400 dollars on a bag either, but I DO purchase 400 dollar Coach bags for a nice 150 dollars… =]

I looove designer purses but I have lots of non-designer ones as well because they’re so much cheaper and you can still find some really cute ones. I only have a few designer ones since they’re much more expensive.

I dont really like the ones that have the logo like plastered alllll over it. Or maybe it’s just the LV ones I dont like…it seems like you’re trying too hard and showing off. I dont find the LV bags that attractive…
