What do you think of this commercial?

Yes, I think it is awesome and a huge step forward from the traditional approach.

If there have to be adds for tampons, I love this one.

I like the concept but I don’t want to see people hitting other people. Ever.

@Wellspring Yeah, they could have left out the boxing and they wouldn’t have lost anything in terms of message/content.

I was set to hate it…and then I didn’t. Have to admire the approach.

Loved it. As the writer of the article said, “Ad Execs. More please”

I wonder they will have non-traditional ads for women laxatives and Viagra too.

Are there laxatives just for women??

They just use women in the ads. I have not seen any man in the ads.

I would rather have the blue liquid…

Interesting. So market Viagra to women? does it come in decorator colors?

Would u know it was an ad for tampons?

Begs the question–do women need a tampon commercial? Is there a new innovation?
I don’t even have an interest in this…I just love the marketing aspect.

Well, I guess the point of advertising is not to just buy tampons in the generic sense but a particular brand of tampons, correct? Plenty of products are advertised without any new innovations. And there are tampon alternatives, too, which have become more popular.

Hate it. I cover my eyes at any sight of blood in the movies. Blood from an injury has nothing to do with menstrual blood. I really hate watching people get injured. Completely unappealing to me.

PS You did ask for opinions!

Great ad!

You’d be surprised. Tampon use is not widespread in many parts of the world, including Latin America & Asia.

I’m personally not a fan of seeing blood, no matter what’s being advertised. I doubt many folks would connect the commercial with tampons.

Well, the end does mention a particular brand so if you don’t get the connection during the commercial you would by the end. That’s a common advertising mechanism.

Yea, but still not a fan of ads that have so little connection with the product.

I have no problem with the ad. I’m just not sure it connects with “everyday” women. But as a one time “story”
shot, i.e." Look at what the most extreme thing that you could be doing while having a period and still be protected" as an example. That might be ok in a limited edition.
