I went to Ursinus College for an interview and I really like it there. they said they have close to 100% placement rate for those who apply to law school. Anyone else go here for undergrad or are considering it?

Sorry, I never heard of the college.

It really depends on which law schools those students go to. If 100% get into Law schools, but most of those are acceptances into third and fourth tier law schools, I would not be that impressed. Some schools have a 70% or 80% placement rate, but most of those end up going to top tier law schools. I have heard of Ursinus, but I have not heard anything that would suggest it is a good place to go for your undergraduate studies.

Thanks 4 the advice!

I would also wonder whether this schools is one of those ‘cherry-pickers’. In order to apply to law school, you have to submit a letter from the dean or other administrator at your undergrad school that basically validates your candidacy. At most programs, this letter is provided on demand - you go to some office and ask for it, and you will be given a form letter. No fuss, no muss. However, I know that some programs will refuse to provide this letter to certain students, and in particular, will refuse to provide it to those weak students who they don’t think will get in anywhere. And if you don’t have this letter, you can’t apply. So basically, these schools are ‘cherry-picking’ only their best students and allowing only them to apply, and then they can turn around and say that “Look at all of our students who applied to law school who got in” when the fact is, the school restricted the ability to apply in the first place to only the strong students.

I don’t know if this school is doing that, but it is something you should look into.
