I read something like 87% of millennials don’t wear outdoor shoes inside. True for 100% of my kids. Being in the baby boomer generation it is around 50%. I wear outdoor shoes inside.
I need to convert but I am having trouble doing it. I cannot walk barefoot, I am notorious for banging my toes within seconds and injuring them.
Slippers seem to be OK for now. I leave them at their home entry. But, I was curious if any one has favorites they use?
They have some traction, if that’s what you mean. They aren’t slippery. And you can use the heel strap if you want them attached more securely to your feet so they don’t fall off. I don’t use the strap so that they are easier to slip on and off, which is my preference. Most of the domestic climbing I do is into my bed
Look at the Merrell jungle moc. This is what my husband wears inside the house. I wear the Birkenstock slide for inside the house but not the best for stairs and open toe. My daughter wears crocs inside the house. Based on what you described I would go with the Merell. PS I work in a shoe store.
I’m always barefoot at the cabin, but need indoor shoes at the AZ house due to the tile. I wear these Crocs and travel with them as well for hotel use. Crocs are uber comfortable and machine washable.
I went through an indoor Oofos slides period when I was nursing a few chronic running issues (plantar fasciitis and posterior tibial tendonitis etc.) but then reverted to barefoot or socks which is my norm. The no-name puffy slides on Amazon are also comfy (slight arch support feels nice on footbed and the foam is cushy). I am talking about the ones where the part over the foot is also cushy.
Another croc wearer here. I just upgraded to a white pair from Marshall’s for $15. My old crocs I got for $7 at a discount store in 2008. They last forever. They were great pool shoes when I coached swimming and also soccer mom shoes when the grass was wet.
After that I didn’t wear them outside anymore. And I have lots of stairs in my house.
I love my FitFlop clog slippers, and they are fine on stairs in my experience (tri-level townhome, so lots of stair use), but the whole brand has gone downhill and I don’t think they’re selling anything that I like as much, anymore.
I also have a designated indoor pair of slip-on sneakers - Kiziks - which are very comfortable but need after-market insoles to be as supportive as I like.
I wear Oofos slippers in the house. I have chronic heel pain in one foot and these are wonderful. Soles are plenty grippy enough for the bare wooden stairs. Gives enough cushioning that I can walk comfortably on hard flooring. They can be tossed in the washer or dryer if they get wet or dirty.
Gave a pair to my brother who has a bad back plus has had multiple ankle surgeries as a result of a serious car accident . He loves them too.
