What do you write in yearbooks?

Title says it all. When people give you their yearbooks to sign, do you just write something brief, like “H.A.G.S.” followed by your name/signature, or do you tend to be more elaborate? I personally write about 3-4 sentences for most people (usually something like “It was great being your classmate in Algebra II this year!” - just an example), but go far more in-depth when I’m writing in a friend’s yearbook. That may take up to about 1-2 paragraphs plus a list of inside jokes. But I’ve noticed that many other people who sign the yearbooks just write something very short (usually a sentence max.). In one case, I saw someone who just drew a smiley face, followed by their name (though I found that quite sweet).

I’m not sure why I take so much time to sign people’s yearbooks anyway. Maybe I’m just a nice/perhaps rambling person… :P

I usually just draw a picture… of my eyelids.
