what does epicosity mean?

it wont come up in the dictionary every time i try to search it (and this is the third time i’ve been driven to give it a search).

it’s infuriating. i know i should know this one. it sounds like one of those words you’re supposed to have learned by the time you’re 17. but i haven’t for some reason :(.

any ideas?

To my understanding, “epicosity” is the noun form of the adjective “epic”. It is a teenage colloquialism (that explains why it was not found on dictionary.com) that gauges the “epicness” of a person, place, event, or thing. For example, I would say that “the ongoing dispute between the Philipines and the holy motherland of China over the tiny Spratly Islands is an event that lacks epicosity” because the two nations are basically sitting there on their warships staring each other down (the tensions have not heated up to the point to where they will actually do something exciting, say, release lead-laden fireworks.

The first definition is from Urban Dictionary. Not a great sign.

Also, “epicosity” is not found in the Official Club and Tournament Word List (OWL) used in Scrabble (I’m a tournament Scrabble player…). Since OWL is mostly a compilation from other major dictionaries, “epicosity” probably won’t be found there either.
