I applied here RD, and I was just curious to know for people who go here - what do they like/dislike about it. For people who want to go here why? Just a feel for what I hope to expect. Also if anyone is interested, can they chance me?
GPA: 3.9
SAT: 1750 (1130)
ECs: A lot of extra curricular activities, and leadership positions.
Essay: Amazing!
Teacher Recommendation: Great!

You’ll get in, and if you’re from NYS you should be eligible for scholarships if you applied by the correct time. There’s a lot to mention regarding what the school has to offer, and if you go through some of the posts in this section, there are a lot of detailed posts regarding that.

I applied relatively early, November 14 - I believe. Unfortunately my SAT score I think is too low for consideration; I think they only look at (1200+); and I’m 70 points shy :/. Oh well, I’m sure it’ll be worth my bottom dollar, I’m seriously considering this school, would just love to know more about it.

Thank you, I will make sure I go through. Do you attend UB; hows your experience there?

Very good bus service (in the daytime, buses come literally about every minute or so)
*Cost (one of the best deals your gonna get for the money your paying)
Huge school (Therefore theres lots of students and regardless of who you are, you can potentially find ppl to relate to and enjoy. Also lots of majors so if ur undecided then this is a good school for you)
Alumni Arena (very good gym and facilities)
C3 and Goodyear Hall (these are good all you can eat buffets where your meals/money goes far, just watch your waistline!)
Diversity (just about every single ethnic/religious/nationality/cultural group is represented)
Canada nearby (many who cant club/bar-hop legally hop the border where they can…niagara falls is also nice)
Subway into downtown from South Campus is only $1

DISLIKES
Weather (on average: only the first 5 weeks and the last 3 weeks of the school year are warm)
Buffalo (not much to do and much of the city is VERY poverty-stricken and run-down… think it ranks 3rd in the whole nation in terms of poverty rate. thankfully if you live on north campus then you dont even have to think about it)
Seperation of campuses (they are about 7-20 minutes away from each other depending on what mode of transportation you use. There are three campuses with their own unique feels. Its also hard for making friends since if somebody lives in a dorm/apartment far away then its sometimes hard to maintain and grow a friendship)
Look of the campus (north campus has too many drab brown 1960’s buildings while the south campus has nasty trailers, the south campus historic blgs are pretty on the outside but some definitely need work in the inside: the UB2020 plan is currently making all the campuses more physically attractive)
