It’s interesting to me to see how excessive alcohol consumption affects people differently. Some people get goofy, some get overly affectionate, some people get very emotional. And others get mean, nasty, and violent.
That former executive is going to have a hard time getting another job now that his idiocy has been exposed to the world. And I don’t blame that driver for giving it up; no one needs that.
yeah that video is a gift that will keep on giving for that guy. (I do not feel to sorry for him)
the only mistake the driver made (easy for me to say …not in the situation sitting at keyboard) is he should have pulled into the parking lot of a police station or hospital.
Who knows how that would have ended if the driver did not have the mace. Yes, I think that video really illustrates how alcohol can turn a seemingly normal person into a violent menace. I really think that sometimes people underestimate the power of alcohol - especially young people.
Your really have to regulate your consumption carefully, taking into account your body size, individual tolerance and when you have last eaten. Then you have to have the discipline and good sense to stop when you have had enough.
Good on Taco Bell for terminating him for his atrociously violent behavior. As likely with the case with ex-UConn student Luke Gatti, in vino veritas.
From looking at his online bio and from other reports, my impression is he’s more of a sales & marketing communications guy. That’s not considered in the realm of “technology” in the popular or moreso, among the hardcore engineering/computers/techie set.
cobrat…I love the u conn menace! (just kidding)
you are correct I do not view him as a tech person…kind of marketing using tech. either way… the guy needs to fix his trajectory…I hope he learns! (most people never do)
I’m not sure the Taco Bell marketing comm exec has grounds to sue considering I doubt he had a reasonable expectation of privacy in the UBER DRIVER’S VEHICLE.
Also, some private car companies do reserve the right to photograph/take video of customers to ensure ID in case they decide to abscond without paying or act violently against the driver as happened in this case*. I don’t see why the Uber driver wouldn’t have the legal right to post that video and how the passenger has any legal grounds to sue him for doing so.
It's allowed under NY laws and is considered reasonable, especially considering how dangerous their occupation can be with private car drivers getting robbed, assaulted, or even murdered by passengers. .
The uber driver could file assault charges against the passenger. I hardly see how the passenger could reasonably claim to be an aggrieved party. Sure, anyone can sue anyone else, but it would seem stupid to further antagonize the driver for taking video in his OWN private car.
if the angry dude is smart he will move to another state , take anger management classes ,quit drinking (100% of the time) apply to jobs were he is up front that he got into a stupid situation and he has learned and has been humbled.
I get that video is international but he needs a change of venue.
the driver seems like a level headed nice guy who wants to move on and actually he seems as upset with uber as he does with the clown passenger.
While its best if the victim files charges and testifies to his assault, wouldn’t the video be considered enough evidence for the authorities to charge the ex-Taco Bell Marketing Comm exec with assault without the victim needing to press charges? Just wondering.
My greatest fear when I use any car service - Uber or otherwise- is something I saw in a TV movie when I was very young. In the movie when the woman got into the back of the car the lock device had been rigged so she could not unlock the door to get out. So the guy drove into this remote area in the woods and she could not even get out of the back of the car.
I always think of that when I use any type of car service or taxi and I fiddle around with the door to make sure it is unlocked and opens easily for me. Probably makes no sense as I am sure the driver could use some sort of child lock control in the front to lock the back doors at any time. It always makes me nervous.
jym626 I doubt he will go to jail.
community service, fine, letter of apology and the judge maybe lecturing him for 2 minutes.
it is very very uncommon to go to jail for something like this.
it may not even make it to a judge.
I would not want that clown driving anyone…he should pressure clean sidewalks and pick up trash. and pay a fine a big one! and maybe have a curfew for a year. he can not be out after 800 pm or something!
Just thinking he should put himself in his driver’s shoes. Maybe he should be required to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation while they are at it. Maybe he needs an anger management course too.
