What have you discovered about yourself, good or bad, as you've aged?

Never know fed employees are entitled to join AARP. None of us have joined other than my brother who joined it for travel discounts, since it’s cheaper than AAA

You don’t need to be a fed employee to join AARP. My 20yo S joined as an associate member. He did it for the travel discounts.

H and I refuse to join.

I discovered that 60 is NOT the new 40.

^^^What?!!! Say it isn’t so!

I discovered that 60 is indeed the new 40!!

@morrismm - let me tell you, I am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I don’t think I ever will know, but now I am beginning to accept that that is ok.

I do think that 60 is the new 40. At least I try to tell myself that when I look in the mirror and see things I don’t want to see.

I think 60 is the new 40 from 50 years ago. When you look at my Grandma at age 60 and me at 57…I look like her much younger daughter.

OK how about 60 is the new 45?

@MaineLonghorn @intparent I’ve used the “visual filing system” for years. It works for me and I still do it at home. However, at work, I’ve learned it does not come across as “organized” to others and can be detrimental. SO, I began labeling manila folders with a black sharpee and put them in several of these: http://www.staples.com/Staples-Metal-Incline-Desktop-File-Sorters/product_SS120188

they are all right behind my desk where I can see them all (still a visual filing system) but the net effect is that my office now looks organized when someone stops in! (they have to be the ones on an incline, so you can still SEE all of them!!)

^I have used those, but my last couple clients have a “clean desk” policy when you go home every day for security reasons. Those are an infraction. :frowning:

One thing I’ve pretty much known about myself is that I don’t put a lot of stock into what others think of me. In good news, that’s only gotten better. In bad news, I fear that I might go over the edge! :))

@Fishnlines29, thanks! I will try that.

I scheduled a free 45-minute session with a life coach on Friday. I have to figure out why I’m stuck in my non-productive mode. I’ve been playing 8 ball pool online this morning. :frowning: (Don’t try it - it’s very addictive.)
