My grandparents had a relative who would always send them really nice chocolate dipped strawberries for Christmas. They really looked forward to that gift! They were nice because it was little enough food that my grandparents could consume them on their own before they went bad, but also nice/fancy enough that they felt special and weren’t something my grandparents would buy themselves.
We send complete dinners to our elderly family members. We’ve had good luck from MacKenzies and Omaha Steak. We’ve also sent Wolfermans breakfast baskets.
Independent living, so meals are taken care of. Snacks not meals.
I forgot to mention that.
Lou Malnati’s pizza.
We once were sent Harry and David pears. They were delicious, but very expensive.
LOVE my Oofos flip flops (Oolala sandal). Especially for my knee - before surgery and after surgery.
Get them Waldorf dolls. If they are anti plastic they should be fine with boys getting dolls.
Cheryl’s Cookies. Company out of Columbus. Not gourmet or fancy BUT pretty sugar cookies with yummy frosting, they come (if I remember correctly) each individually wrapped - so great to stick in the freezer. One cookie makes a good snack!
Additionally Garrett’s popcorn unless that’s a problem for older teeth.
Wolferman’s for English muffins/jam type stuff
The chocolate dipped strawberries may been from this company.
I’m not a huge strawberry person but a friend sent a box of these to me and I was seriously thrilled after taking a bite (and then several more) of one.
They are simply delicious. And huge. So good.
I’ve given boxes of them now as well and the recipients were always very pleased to receive them!
Look for online coupons if there isn’t an immediate discount on the site.
We do wolfermans baskets for older relatives and also as thank you gifts.
Am I the only one still gets (chocolate) coal in their stocking? The kids get the coins.
See’s candy is a hit with people I know.
Any recommendations for running leggings? D wants some and I know folks have recommended Athleta before but I don’t know which one specifically. If it matters, she runs outside in cold weather.
We just got the Stonewall Kitchen catalog. It has a lot of things worth looking at…most consumable.
I’m pretty sure my kid has fleece lined Athleta running leggings.
If you want to be fancy, Vosges Chocolates are amazing. I also second Cheryl’s Cookies.
For cold weather running - These were on sale last week. I know several people who got them, including me (I haven’t received them yet)

This link isn’t working for me.
Do you have a local store for exchange (or gift card)? I find sizing can be tricky on running leggings.
