What holiday gifts are you buying (or receiving)?

Thank you for sharing that—just did so!!

We did also tip our UPS driver, but this program is so great. Love it!

I’ve been thanking my driver for a while. Alexa tells me I had a delivery; I say thanks.

I second Williams & Sonoma. It’s a more elevated version of H&D (I don’t always like quality of the H&D stuff).

I’m happy to do the Amazon thing if it puts a little extra cash in their pocket - $$ that Amazon can afford to give them! I’d be curious what the average pay back is via these $5 tips??

Done! :dollar:

I got this one from Roxy in blue.

Nice! Underarm venting (aka “pit zips”) feature can be hard to find, especially for women’s jackets.

So Santa pulled up in a UPS truck yesterday and delivered my pair of Thursday Boot Captains that I bought for my wife to give me(very efficient process ).

If you have people in your life that appreciate a high quality boot, at a reasonable price for the level of craftmanship, you might want to take a look at these. There are many youtube videos to learn all you want about these boots.

These will be mostly casual, everyday wear boots for 9 months of the year. They’re nice enough to wear to the office honestly, so I likely will.

Here’s some history, with the bonus of seeing the boots sawed in half(with 99k views in a month). The company was founded in 2014 and they’ve sold their boots for $199 every since. They appear to be the only inflation proof company in the world.

Here are some decent reviews.

Thank you for this. I don’t have any Alexa enabled devices so didn’t know how to do it when I heard about it last year and this. But, unfortunately, I went to do it and looked at the FAQ and it said they’d gotten the maximum of 2 million thank yous for the $5 so it ended on December 12. It still thanks them, though.

I thought I was done shopping! Now I need a “family” gift for parents and 3 20-something girls.
We want something “fun,” and probably consumable, but a family game or other non-consumable could also work.
Budget less than or around 100 bucks.
We don’t want a food basket, or nuts. chocolates are a possibility, but we’d like something different.
We were thinking Deep Eddy’s flavored Vodkas, but it looks like you can’t easily ship it from Deep Eddys. (We may stick with this and pay extra through another vendor).
Thoughts?

Well we got an amazon delivery put on my car charging cord in the carport. The only reason I found it was I was charging my car and it was in the way. I guessed as to how it ended up about place and correctly guessed it was from BIL instead of H&D pears. Haha! It’s a balancing board made of wood—nice compact style. We tried it out and like it.

I think we figured out the family gift. Mexican Train Dominoes and another game called something like Do You Really Know Your Family.
Liquor was too complicated.

Mexican train dominos are very fun to play!

Thanks. We played it once and had fun. More importantly, our 20-something kids bought it bc they like it.
Hopefully the family doesn’t have it. If they do, easy Amazon return I assume.

@1214mom - I keep seeing ads for Boarderie - they sell charcuterie boards. I haven’t really checked into that but it seems a little “different” and fun.

I now have ideas for the last few people on my list (SIL’s family who will be in town). Yay.

For SIL’s parents: a gift card to a restaurant they like
for SIL’s brother: a gift card to a sporting good store
(both have locations where they live/visit)

I’ll get some cute gift bags, throw in some candy and scratch off tickets (also putting those in the stockings).

I needed one more thing for SIL’s stocking, but that will be a gift card to the coffee shop he likes.

We have to go out and get the stuff, but that’s the easy part.

How hard is Mexican train dominoes? (I have never played regular dominoes)

Mexican train dominoes is a simple game to play. Kids can play it, you can talk and play it,
you can drink and play it.
