AP : 4 Chem 5 Cal BC(self studied if it helps)

Additionally, based on my score, I believe that I stand a very low chance for admission in Engineering
So I am concerned if I should apply for financial aid
People kept telling me that for early action, it is never good to apply for financial aid.
Please let me know anything you guys know about!
Thank you
Messipass; While SAT scores and GPA are certainly part of the holistic review of applications to UVA, probably one of the largest parts of the “puzzle” that’s used for consideration is your transcript. Don’t get hung up on numbers. An important factor is the rigor of the courses taken at your school in comparison to all offered there. If you’ve taken the most rigorous, that will be looked upon favorably. Remember, you are reviewed in the context of your school; you’re not compared to the applicants at large. The acceptance rate for out of state students is about 29% and the student body at UVA is comprised of about 33% out of state students. My advice - apply to the school if it’s one that you would like to attend. Don’t ever be afraid to pursue your dreams and never let anyone discourage you from that pursuit - ever! At the end of the day, you will find the right school for you. Hopefully UVA will be that one. Best wishes.
I suggest that students consider U. of Delaware as a backup college. It is similar in academic offerings and social life to UVa, and includes a respected engineering school. U. Del. is similar in size and appearance to UVa, and is in a town that is very similar to Cville. It includes 2/3rds out of state students. The OOS tuition is not cheap, but it is much less than UVa ,and they offer some need and merit based aid. Although they don’t promise to meet 100% of need, they may meet 100% of need for top applicants (which includes many students who are competitive for OOS UVa). It is also accessible - it is a few miles off of I95 and has Amtrak service. They also have an honors college, and a brand new residential hall where those students live.
