What is my "Year of Entry" in a UK University? I'm currently a senior (International).

I was trying to apply to Lancaster University when I read in the FAQs a question saying:-

“What are the UCAS deadlines for applying?”

The Answer was “Completed applications, including a reference, should be sent to UCAS by the 15th January in the year of entry.”

*I’m graduating from High School in June 2015.

Then presumably you are planning to enter university in the autumn of 2015, so your year of entry = 2015, so your deadline to apply was 4 weeks ago. Sorry…

Yes, you missed the deadline for Fall 2015 for UCAS (Jan 15) and CAO (Feb1st). :frowning: Sorry.

Its OK, it wouldn’t be the end of the world for me  I’ll have to think positively and find alternatives like universities in the US as they have late deadlines for int’l students.

So do you advice me to take a gap year then? or don’t the UK Universities accept it?

All may not be lost. UCAS has a section for people who missed the deadline, see www.ucas.com/ucas/undergraduate/getting-started/when-apply. Good luck.

UK universities look very positively on gap years.
