what is the acceptable SAT score at ivy-leagues?

<p>first generation is a hook but not a major one. ivy league middle 50 percentile scores are 2000-2300 (higher for HYPS- Harvard 2050-2370), but remember there are minorities and athletes, the biggest hooked groups, factored in</p>

<p>Her scores would not disqualify her, but she would be at the lower end of the applicant pool.</p>

<p>parkrunner, harvard is one of the ivies that does consider writing scores, while pton isn’t. tell your gf to apply to schools that consider the writing score.</p>

<p>What I know is that as long as your parents haven’t matriculated in a US college/university, you’re considered as a first generation student.</p>

<p>^^ actually, no. The Common App asks for parental education, and if your parents received any type of degree from Oxbridge or the India Institute of Technology, it’s supposed to be listed.</p>

<p>OP: your gf’s SAT scores are below the 25th percentile for Dartmouth.</p>

<p>No, if you parents NEVER went to college, anywhere, then you are a first generation student. You would be the first generation in your family to go to college.</p>
