Biology

It’s the only one my school offers, but we have college credit classes from a local university, and we can always choose to take any AP Exam at the end of the year, but I suppose you don’t want to make yourself completely dependent on APs

At my school, the max you can even take is 7 (and that’s with calc AB and BC). There aren’t many choices. Most people that go to good colleges take 5 or 6.

freshman year: 2 (APES, WHAP)
sophomore year: 2 (biology, stats)
junior year: 2 (APUSH, english language)
senior year: 6 (calc bc, microecon, chem, government, physics b, english lit)

(theoreticly)

The most AP’s someone could take is equal to the total number that CollegeBoard offers.

Think about how much $ Collegeboard is making off of this. One exam is $86, multiplied by roughly 150,000 kids that take the class each year, and that’s just for one class. It may vary for each class, but Collegeboard shouldn’t be allowed to charge this much. They can easily make $10 million from AP Biology, maybe $150 million between all the AP Classes, a killing off the SAT since millions of kids have to take it each year for college (and take them multiple times), and then don’t forget the $10 it takes for collegeboard to send an entire SAT Score report, multiplied by how many colleges you apply to and multiply that by the # of people that apply to colleges each year. Seriously, how much money are they making, like $1/2 billion a year?

great question. I would think even more than $1/2 billion, but I don’t know for sure

hmm…

Freshmen: 0 [fail jk xD]
Sophomore: 2 [Bio and World History]
Junior: 5 atm (maybe self study some later on) [Calc AB, Spanish IV, Chemistry/Physics depending on availability, English Lang., U.S. History]
Senior: 4 atm [Calc BC, English Lit., Physics, Envir. Sci.]

Considering: European History, Psychology, Spanish Lit., maybe Human Geo [doubt it]

so grand total=~11, possibly 14-15 if I go crazy and give up living D:

i feel really bad about myself now
Freshman - 0 (yea… lol. our school is barely allowing Freshman to do AP next year… and i dont have helicopter parents either, so its okay)
Sophmore - 1 (hehe, i could have done more, but again, no helicopter parents, so im figuring it out as i go along)
Junior - 5
Senior 3 at least, 5 max

= 9 - 11 APs

Hey, I’m just posting my friend’s info

Freshman: AP Chem
Sophomore: AP Euro, AP Physics C:Mechanics, AP Physics C: Electricity, AP Physics B, AP Biology
Junior(planning to take): AP Calc BC, AP Stats, APUSH, AP English, AP Chinese
Senior(plan): AP Econ Macro, AP econ Micro, AP Gov, AP English, AP Spanish

That’s her high school plan. By the way, she has 4.0 UW and about 4.7 weighted, ranked #1. Her only weakness is EC. After all, how can she keep up with everything?

Freshman: 0 (School didn’t offer any, but I probably could have selfstudied Psych and Enviro. Science)
Sophmore: AP Calc AB, WHAP, AP Bio
Junior: AP Stat, AP Eng, APUSH, AP Envrio. Science (self study), AP Psych (self study)
Senior: AP Calc BC, AP German, AP Lit, AP Physics, AP Gov (maybe)

Total: 13
I’m currently a Sophmore. Might add on a couple more self studies (economics?) in my senior year. My school doesn’t offer that many, so I’ll have to take Economics on my own probably.

^^ You only have 3.

I’ve taken 12… thats not a lot at our school

Think about how much $ Collegeboard is making off of this. One exam is $86, multiplied by roughly 150,000 kids that take the class each year, and that’s just for one class.
^^^
rahoul…this is a common sense fail. there are schools that give huge and complete discounts off the ap tests. And then most kids are like ooo its free so let me try, and then they prob get 1s or 2s

the collegeboard made 55 million dollars (profit) in the fiscal year ending in 2007.

someone posted the article somewhere on CC

I’ve already taken 4 (1 Soph, 3 Junior)
and I’m taking 4 senior year

So 8 AP Tests total =D

Lets see:

Freshman year: 0 (freshmen aren’t allowed to take APs at my school)
Sophomore year: 2 - World History and Stats
Junior year: 3 - Envionmental Science, APUSH and Psych
Senior year: 4- US Govt, Biology, Calc BC and Language Comp.

So 9 in all. Not much for CC but a ton for my school. I think the average at my school is 3…maybe 4 by graduation.

satacer: With all your alleged intelligence, one would expect that you’d be able to spell “maximum.” ;-)

I will have taken 10 APs upon graduation. At our school, no one has ever taken more than 11 APs, simply because…

 • we cannot take more than 6 academic classes a year,
 • we must take gym every year (thus precluding a 7th academic class), and
 • for 2 years, we must take an “elective” (non-AP class… just ensures their funding isn’t wasted).

Fresh- 2
Sopho- 2
Junior- 2
Senior- 5

Fresh- 0 (lol phail)
Sopho- 3 (Computer Science, Science, Language, Math)
Junior- 5 (Science, Language, Math, History, Music Theory)
Senior- 5 (Science, Language, Math, history, English)

we have a rule which only allow us to take 1 course from each department… :/

I am currently a Junior. So far, I have taken:
-AP European History
-AP Biology
-AP English Language
-AP Calculus AB
-AP U.S. History

For Senior year, I plan to take:
-AP Chemistry
-AP French Language
-AP Calculus BC
-AP English Literature
-AP U.S. Government

10 in all :)
