What is the most popular/easiest/hardest AP in your school?

Most popular (9 sections each): AP Statistics and AP Psychology. Both easy.

Second most popular (7 sections): AP Biology. (easy or annoying, depending on the teacher) “<my parents=”" want=“” me=“” i=“”> to be a doctor."</my>

Moderately popular (4-6 sections): AP Chemistry (very hard), AP Physics B (hard), AP Calc BC (OK), AP Calc AB (chill), AP Lit (very hard or moderate depending on teacher)

Somewhat less popular (2-3 sections): AP Chinese (school = 80% Asian, so…), APHG (unknown), AP World (chill), APUSH (very hard)

Second least popular (1 section each): APES (too much work), AP Music (lack of interest), AP French (hard/lack of interest), AP Spanish (hard/lack of interest), and AP Physics C (hard/lack of interest).

Least popular (0.5 section): AP Japanese. We had to be put in the same classroom with Japanese 3 students to form a class with enough people. I blame the teacher.

Hardest: One of AP Chem, APUSH, or AP Lit (with a certain teacher). AP Physics C is new this year, so we’ll see.
Easiest: AP Stats and AP Psych, maybe AP World too.

Hardest: AP Chem

Easiest: AP Psychology or AP environmental

Most Popular: hmm thats a pretty hard question. I’d say AP USH.

Most Popular: English Language (SO many people take it, even if they’ve never taken an honors class before…for those people it can be a grade killer, but for everyone else it’s not too bad.)
Somewhat Popular/Challenging: APUSH, English Lit (APUSH is pretty popular, but sometimes scares kids away. Same with Lit.)
Least Popular: Physics C Mech
Grade Killers: Physics C Mech, Calc AB (no BC offered)

I’m not sure of the popularity for most Ap’s, especially since it really depended on the class itself, but here:

Very Popular: **AP Chem/b, Ap Government, Ap Psychology, **AP Bio/b.

Unpopular: Also can overlap with Ap World History before because of a rigorous teacher, **Ap Physics B/b, **Ap Spanish/b, Ap Calculus AB and BC , ** Ap Statistics **.

Really Unpopular: **Ap Physics C /b, **Ap French/b, Ap Comp sci.

Challenging: Ap Art History, Ap Music Theory, **Ap Chemistry/b, Ap Physics B, ** Ap Statistics **.

Cry Worhty Hard: **Ap Bio/b, Ap SPanish, **Ap World History/b, Ap Physics C, Ap French.

My school offers MANY Ap’s, but in order to take them you have to have taken the prerequisties and you cannot just skip. This leaves some people who didn’t take either Biology or PSI Physics at a slight disadvantage. My school also makes you take at least 1 Ap.

Ap Art History
Ap Biology
Ap Calculus Ab
Ap Calculus BC
Ap Chemistry
Ap CompSci
Ap Macro and micro economics (taught in same year; and I don’t know stats for this Ap)
Ap English Laguage
Ap English Literature
Ap Environmental Science
Ap European History
Ap French
Ap U.S. Government
Ap Music Theory
AP Physics B
Ap Physics C
Ap Psychology
Ap Spanish
Ap Statistics
Ap US History
Ap World History

21 or 22 Ap’s depending on if you count Macro and Micro economics the same or two seperate Ap’s. Also, these are taken year round. There are no semester courses, unless you are taking Ap Psychology ITV and Ap Macro and Micro economics ITV I think… ITV is basically taking a real college course, but you are watching the class on television. Since the college has semesters, we are ‘off’ on these subjects for some long periods of time.

Whew! I never knew this would be complicated!

Easiest- APUSH(I am one of very few people who aren’t taking it but I also have 4 other APs this year so I’m not really worried ;))

Most successful-Chem/Calc BC (The teachers for these classes are fantastic so almost everyone gets a 4 or a 5)

Most Challenging- Euro or Spanish Lang

Largest Failure Rate-Spanish Lang and Calc AB

Hardest: AP Physics
Easiest: AP Environmental Science
Most Popular: AP Psychology

There isn’t really a single “most popular,” but World History, US History, Chem, and the Englishes tend to fill up.

Easiest is probably Environmental Science.

Hardest in terms of workload is a split between US History or Bio, maybe Physics (took USH last year, taking Bio this year, and I’m not taking Physics, so I’m not 100% sure, but Bio is known for being very hard). Lowest pass rate/average score might be Chem or Physics.

Most popular and hardest would be known as AP team. Combined course of AP lang and APUSH with rumored phenominal teachers, but hellish workload.

Easiest: APES and AP bio are known as relatively easy at my school

Hardest…Physics C
Most Popular…APUSH/Eng Lang Combined Studies :)…absolutley amazing class
Easiest…AP Stats

Hardest: AP Chem. The teacher makes everyone do literally every single problem in the textbook and they get 2-3 hours of homework per night, APUSH (intense, detailed tests, forced to outline every chapter), AP Calc BC, AP Euro, AP Lit (the teacher is just…indescribable)

Easiest: AP Psych, APES, AP Photo, AP Comp Sci, AP Stat

Medium: AP Bio, AP Physics B, AP Calc BC, AP Music theory, AP Studio art

Most popular: AP Psychology, AP Calc AB, AP Stat

Popular: Stats
Easiest: Stats
Hardest: Calc AB and Eng Lit (tie for lowest passing rates)

What my school offers in terms of APs: Calc AB , Stats, US History, Eng Lit (all have been discontinued for this year)

thanks mrlaurencenguyen for calling this a great thread. I was interested in what was a popular/joke/ hard AP around the country for a while. Anyway keep posting people this is great!

nice thread!

Old school:

Popular: AP Bio? I feel like all the seniors, even the ones in regular classes take this…
AP World, too? Like 6 sections for this class…

Easy: Most classes are hard here…I’d pick World I guess, since there’s less outlining and at least half of the kids have A’s…

Hardest: AP Physics C-people take it every year but the teacher isn’t the best.

Popular: Bio (I need a science, so I guess I’ll take it), Psych (it’s crazy easy!), APUSH (only AP really offered to juniors)

Easy: Stats (AP math for those who don’t like/are bad at math), Psych

Hardest: Physics C (at least theoretically - this year will be the first year in several that it’s been offered), Chem (the teacher’s very strict and very difficult)

Most popular: AP Bio
Easiest: Stats or Comparative Gov’t? Depends.
Hardest: AP Chem

Most Popular: Psychology (not really that easy but it had about 7 sections of it last year)
Easiest: Macro or Micro (both ridiculously easy)
Hardest: Biology (absolutely brutal at my school)
Least Popular: Art History or Italian (don’t run every year)

Most Popular: AP Language

Hardest: AP Chem/APUSH (depending on the APUSH teacher)

Easiest: AP World History

Least Popular: AP Stats (20> tests in a school of 1800)

Popular:Nerds all take all of them so… Maybe Calc because they take it earlier?
easy:psych
hardest: No hardest one.

Most popular would have to be AP English Language & Comp. A lot of juniors (since it’s AP English III at my school) take that class because they don’t want regular English but don’t take any other honors or AP class.

Least popular would probably be AP Calc AB because my school isn’t competitive so a lot of people stop after Trig/Algebra II. Also possibly AP Bio, since there were <15 kids in that class last year.

9 sections:
-English Lang (6 junior classes and 3 senior classes) - they switched English Lit to a junior class, so there will probably be a lot less sections next year

6 sections:
-Human Geography - the only AP class for freshman (3 classes) and 3 junior/senior classes; considered one of the easiest in the school

5 sections:
-Psychology - probably one of the easiest AP’s and an awesome teacher; students take this as a first AP or when they have a lot of other AP’s
-World History - but there is only going to be 2 sections next year
-US History - the main AP for sophomore year (the other ones are the arts); considered the hardest non mathematical AP class in the school, but the teacher’s great

4 sections:
-Calculus AB - there might be more next year since they eliminated a class that was the prerequisite for Calculus BC and made this harder
-Biology - considered very difficult
-Environmental Science - it’s up there in easiness with Psych and Human Geography; the science AP for people who have never taken an honors science class
-US Government - but there’s going to be 7 sections next year because there’s a new teacher whose awesome
-Economics - considered one of the harder AP’s

3 sections:
-Calculus BC - difficult
-Chemistry - difficult or easy depending on the teacher you get
-Art History - it’s almost as difficult as USHAP
-English Literature - but there will be a lot more next year since they switched it to a junior class, so half the juniors and seniors will be taking it
-Spanish Language - 1 class for native speakers in their sophomore year and 2 for seniors
-2D Design

2 sections:
-Statistics - considered easy
-Physics C
-Physics B

1 section:
-European History - difficult
-Comparative Government - there will be more next year since my school made a combo GovPol course, one for each semester
-Spanish Literature
-French
-Chinese
-Music Theory
-3D Design
-Drawing
