What is the most popular/easiest/hardest AP in your school?

Most Popular: Psychology has the most sections and is usually one of the beginning ap classes that sophomores take
Least Popular: AP Chem and AP. most students have the ap chem teacher for honors chem and get scared to take ap chem because the honors chem class is a more challenging honors class than honors bio
Hardest: AP Chem, AP Physics, AP BC (the teacher is crazy)
Easiest: AP Psychology, AP US and APES (but it is a lot of work and I sort of slacked off hoping for a 3 or 4 :0 )

Most popular: psychology
Least popular: Spanish lit
Easiest: environmental science
Hardest: physics c

Hardest: Advanced Mathmatics/Algebra
Most Popular: Spanish
Least Popular: AC Science

Shoot the history one kicked my arse

most pop bc calc
least popular idk
hardest is environmental in my school b/c teacher is an *******
bio is easiest ive heard b/c students know test bank

Probably not a shock that the ‘easiest’ ones here are the most popular: psych and English Lang.

People seem to complain the most about APUSH (I thought it was fine) and Chem, which I haven’t taken.

Based on the school:
Most popular: Psychology
Least popular: French Language
Hardest: Art History, workload-wise and grade wise, AP English Language if just grade-wise for me… BECAUSE YOU NEED TO GET 8-9 grades on essays for an A when I always get 6-7!
Easiest: Psychology (Well I’d argue Calculus AB then BC for myself, but get to laugh the heck out of the more than majority not getting an A)

Hardest:Probably AP Calculus (AB) (Our School doesn’t offer BC, but the teacher is also insanely hard, but almost everybody gets a 5 on the AP Test, even people who get D’s in his class normally get 5’s)
Easiest:AP Environmental Science
Most popular:AP US History
Least popular:AP Art History, most people say its incredibly boring.

Hardest: We’ve got quite a few hard ones, but I guess BC Calculus… we have the craziest Standard grading system for that class. You could literally fail the class by missing a few questions on one test, not even joking. AP Comparative Politics would probably be the hardest work-load and comprehension wise
Easiest: AP Art History… class is a straight joke
Most popular: AP US Government: the teacher is a baller
Least popular: AP Studio Art?

Hardest: AP Chem. 17 students signed up, it dropped to 12 when 5 left after not being able to complete the summer assignment. Another 8 dropped the course at some point during the first semester. Only 4 students completed the course. I’ve never seen my friend get a grade lower than a 95 or 96 on a math/science test in her life and she consistently got C’s and D’s on tests - she only got an A in the class because the teacher allowed test corrections. AP Physics B is considered the second hardest at my school, but this was the first year the course was offered, and I don’t think it’ll maintain that reputation for long. AP Calculus AB is considered the next hardest, with several dropping, and quite a few C’s. Only 6 of us (out of 30 something) took the AP exam.

If you asked everyone in the school, you’d probably have most students say AP US History. But the majority of the people that take APUSH only take APUSH. It wouldn’t seem hard to them if they took an AP class that wasn’t a joke. So the above response where I stated Chem/Physics/Calc is the opinion of students who take at least 2 AP classes during high school. Those of us that take multiple AP classes realize that APUSH is only considered hard at our school because of the students taking it.

Easiest: AP Psychology. I got over 100% and rarely gave any effort. The most weight was given to reading quizzes - which anyone can easily BS their way through with some basic psychological knowledge and common sense. I never read, and only missed one question the entire year… I got 100% on every single quiz except one. Everyone in my class feels the same way, and we all feel confident about the AP exam. AP Statistics is considered pretty easy as well, but few take it. Most students opt for College Algebra as their 4th math class because it’s considered easier than Stats and most don’t want to double up on math. Stats is really more for those too smart for college algebra but not dedicated enough for AP calc.

Most Popular: Without a doubt, AP Language is the most popular. It has ~60 students this year which means 3 classes a year. Most AP classes have one class, or two small ones. So three decent-sized classes is HUGE for my school. The teacher of this class is a favorite for most students and has the reputation as best teacher, but most laid-back and entertaining as well. There are a lot of students that take this class just because of the teacher even though they didn’t take Pre-AP and don’t take other AP classes. The second most popular, AP Biology, has only half the students AP Language has.

Oh great. The easiest/hardest AP debate.

Cause we’ve all NEVER been iver this before.

Canyon Crest Academy
Popular:
AP US History
AP Psychology
AP English Language
AP World History

Easiest:
AP Enviornmental Science (even though teacher is horrible)
AP Psychology
AP Physics B
AP Chemistry (You can take it in 9th Grade if you are an advanced student)

Hardest:
AP Physics C
AP Biology
AP Macroeconomics

Least Popular:
AP Physics C (Only one class)
AP Japanese Language (To be phased out next year)
AP Art History (I have a friend who took it. So boring, he uses it as a nap-time class).

Most Popular: AP English Language and AP Bio have an uncommon amount of participants.

Considered Easiest: AP Biology with a certain teacher (there are two classes with two different teachers) is considered the easiest. The tests are very difficult but the workload isn’t horrendous and she is very lax.

Considered Hardest: AP Chemistry or AP Physics. AP Chemistry is a killer where only 2 or 3 students get A’s. Humanities-wise, AP US History I limits only 5 of around 40 kids to get A’s due to an insane grading system.

Really Unpopular: AP Comp Sci and AP Environmental usually have around 5-6 students in it.

Most Unpredictable/Polarizing: AP Calculus AB (BC not offered). Some people get 100’s in this class, some 30’s. There seems to be no in between.

Most popular: AP Bio, APUSH, AP Economics

Considered Easiest: AP Economics (certain teachers/certain students), AP Bio, AP Psych, AP Statistics, AP Japanese, AP Environmental Science

Considered Hardest: AP BC Calc, AP Physics C, AP Physics B

Unpopular: AP Art History

AP Lang at my school is the hardest class bc the teacher is REALLY hard. I’ve been in that class for a month and I’ve already learned more than I have in all my previous English classes combined

AP Chemistry: Somewhat popular, but not anymore because our school is adding regular Chemistry as a prerequisite. I didn’t take regular Chem and found AP Chem very easy, but then again I’m not other people.
AP Biology: This is like “the AP” that everyone takes. Very easy, very popular.
AP Calculus AB: Popular I guess, I skipped AB so I don’t know about difficulty but I heard it’s easy
AP Calculus BC: Currently taking, it’s quite challenging, not very popular, and considered one of the 3 hardest APs at the school, the other two being-
AP Physics B: Considered one of the hardest APs in the school
AP Comp Lit: Considered one of the hardest APs in the school but is surprisingly popular (maybe to get out of that GE Composition requirement)

AP Studio Art: not sure about this
AP US History: Quite popular. From what I’ve heard, it’s not “hard” in the way Comp Lit or Calculus is, rather it’s just a ton of work and it takes up most of people’s time.

AP Languages (Spanish, Spanish Lit, French, German, Japanese): AP Languages are not very popular, especially AP Japanese, and are considered very hard, at least from a non-native speaker’s point of view.

AP Art History: Very popular, very easy, this is the joke AP class people take just to boost their GPA
AP Music Theory: not very popular, and quite difficult
AP Gov: no idea about this but its popular
AP Econ (Micro and Macro): supposedly pretty easy
AP Human Geography: not popular, I don’t know anyone who took this
AP Statistics: the ‘joke’ AP math

To sum it up:
Popular:
AP Biology
AP US Government
AP Art History

Hardest:
AP Calculus BC
AP Physics B
AP Comp Lit

Easiest:
AP Biology
AP Statistics

On a related note, this is the list of AP courses by number of exams taken. Might be interesting to compare it to individual schools.

Hardest:

AP Comp Sci

Our school doesn’t offer that many AP classes. We don’t have the notorious Physics C or even AP Govt… D:

Thought I would revive this thread since its course selection time for most about now. AP Chem, Calc BC, and Physics are the hardest at my kids’ school. Most people end up taking AP Gov, since gov’t is a senior requirement and its seen as an easy AP- even kids who never took one before choose it. Psych gets a lot of the same kids, but not all. its a heavy workload. AP Env Sci used to be easy, but then too many kids took it who were not serious about school (again, as seniors, to have an AP class on the transcript) and it has become a monster. The rest are in the middle. AP World can be a tough one, but I think that is because its a 10th grade class here and a lot of students are getting a wake-up call with it- lots and lots of hours of reading and note-taking, which is not technically hard but absolutely requires good time-management, which many of these kids have never needed to worry about before.
