What is the "sexiest" college?

***, joke topic right?

Your first sentence makes no sense? People look down on us because we think that they stereotype us?

Houston and Dallas do have problems with urban sprawl but it’s nowhere near the problem you’ve described. Half the people who’ve commented probably haven’t visited – and surely don’t understand Texan culture well enough to make a comment like that.

You’re generalizing a huge portion of the state. That’s just irresponsible.

Ah I see Greens. I would rather be where you are than in Texas lol. LA does trump Dallas as a city though ;)

I say UCLA = UT Austin in academics.

I prefer UT. Somehow I feel I should stick up for Cal’s more glamorous, younger brother…but, I can’t.

Heh, and all of those wealthy cities you mention happen to be separated from the City of LA.

A few years ago they had an entire list of the sexiest schools in North America. UCLA was number one, and interestingly enough York University (which is located in the Greater Toronto Area) was number two!

^^ You know what I mean…yes, Laguna, Corona Del Mar, Newport are in OC, but it’s still relatively in the area so to say.

@ Jonas: Yeah. Well I actually didn’t mind HP. It was a VERY nice area. I loved the architecture of the houses. Plus their highschool is ranked 15 in the nation on one site, and 33 on another. I could just think of the crazy house parties =] But for personal reasons, I had to stay here.

A few years ago they had a list about the greatest birds in the world. The Manchurian cocktail was first and the Sumerian deathbird was second.

Bourne,
I think that first sentence meant Texans think people look down on them because they (the people) perceive them (Texans) as cowboys

Good choice to stay in Cali. The summers here, such as right now, are brutal. The humidity is the killer. I still got to defend UT though, I mean I grew up watching Longhorn football.

Yeah I know, it was SO hot when I visited a couple weeks ago. Weather is a huge thing when determining the sexiest college =]
Hahah, I understand that. I used to hate UCLA, actually. I remember going to those rival USC vs. UCLA football games. Man those games were nuts.
But all hate aside, UCLA is the sexiest, and a sexier college than UT IMO.

MrPrez was right. The first sentence meant that Texans think others perceive them as cowboys, when in fact that is not why people have such negative attitudes toward Texas.

I can’t speak for half of the people commenting. I’ve spent a good deal of time in Texas with family living there and for work and I stand behind my statement of how most people perceive the cultures of Dallas and Houston.

Of course Texas is huge and can’t be fully stereotyped: small gas station towns holding on by a thread and massive ranches, wide open flat, cracked earth as far as the horizon (quite fascinating) and beaches and islands.

I’m just saying the general perception people have is informed mostly by the suburban sprawl culture of Dallas and Houston, not by the tourism image in advertising of cowboys and campfires. I do enjoy downtown Houston, though.

This is a bizarre conversation. I don’t even know what sexiest university means, unless it means sexiest students. There are thousands of sexy students at UCLA and at Texas. HOWEVER, when it comes to negative comments about sprawl in Dallas and Houston, may I ask what city invented sprawl? L.A. and suburbs cover half of the southern part of the state. L.A. was sprawling when Dallas and Houston were small towns.

I do love Westwood and the neighborhoods around UCLA. Who wouldn’t? They’re beautiful. Austin is great, too — much smaller but with a very fun, off-beat, student-oriented culture. Why does everything on College Confidential have to be about which is the best? what’s the rank? My school is better than your school, blah, blah. It’s so, well … juvenile. And so American.

^^ You guessed it…we’re Americans =P

On the issue of urban sprawl, I will quote Rainn Wilson’s character Dwight from the tv show the Office, “There are too many people here. this planet needs another plague.” ;)

sexiest school must be Pepperdine…
best location (if you like the beach and nothing else :D)
great looking hot hot guys and girls!

UCLA, Boston College = two sexiest colleges in the universe. (period)

Since when did sports=sexiness…lol?

yeah but pepperdine doesnt have great academics as UCLA does nor sports

Sexiest? Salve Regina. It’s the only college that makes me glad I have dyslexia.

“in terms of glamor, location, people, academics, prestige, etc…”

That would be NYU!!!
What does a sports record have to do w/ sexiness??? IDK but sports don’t scream sexy to me. Maybe you could find someon w/ an athletic body sexy, or a better word would be “hot”, but the actuall sports sexy??? I don’t think so. And what does Texas have to do w/ glamor? Seriously. When I think Texas in terms of style, I just think of big hair, jeans and just an overall mall-iness, hardly glamorous. UCLA…maybe. NYU winss in my book, by far in terms of an overall “sexy” vibe.
