What is the word?

What’s a word for an object that erases all of someone’s sins? I’m doing some writing and can’t think of the appropriate word.

The blood of Jesus, haha.

Uh, IDK… a purger? an absolver? Tohse are the noun versions of the verbs associated with what you described.

no such thing exists?

I believe that you are referring to indulgences, and although they don’t erase someone of all their sins, they can be purchased to gain a better chance at salvation. Martin Luther wrote the 95 Theses in response to the Catholic Church selling indulgences. This is seen as a cause of the Protestant Reformation.

…Oh wait, AP World History has been over for weeks.

Absolution?

cleansed?
Reconciliation?

it’s called a jesus

Secularism?

Atonement, or the action of atoning.

EDIT: Oh, object. Hmmm…I would tentatively agree with indulgences, but they don’t precisely have the meaning that you’re looking for. Indulgences simply lower the amount of time you or a loved one supposedly spends in purgatory.

wow, weird just came across this thread after reading the first bible acts

And I just came across this thread after sinning.

Indulgences?

Relics maybe too, but they’re slightly different.

An eraser .

Confession? BTW ^^ Nice reply.

Its called penance

or a whip

A word for something that erases all of what religion deems are “sins”? Reason.

Forgiveness

I wanna say a penance also, oh church, I haven’t been there in forever.

^^I think so too.

I somewhat agree with reason as well though. It seems to contrast with faith and religion.

Uh, catharsis?

Not exactly sins though.
