what is your favorite cocktail?

Mojito is my lightweight summer drink: white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint. But not particularly girlie. Last summer I made Beachcombers for a pool party: light rum, orange liqueur, lime juice, marischino liqueur, and simple syrup. But it’s a bit strong.

I like Cointreau, club soda and lime
Vodka Collins
Cranberry, pineapple and vodka (Tito’s)

I’m getting away from sweet girlie drinks but I do enjoy the cocktail menus at some places

I mostly drink wine.

I am white wine and champagne, but my favorite mixed drink is cosmo. The recipe is the one I got from a restaurant in Chelsea London. It is made with lime and Cointreau, instead of triple sec. The color is the lightest pink rather than red.
I don’t order it often, but when I do my girls could tell if it’s going to be good by the color even before it gets to me. They would shake their heads sometimes and say, “Oh, this is not going to be good.”

Scotch and Soda or a screwdriver.

@sabaray I just bought the Ketel One Botanicals cucumber and mint vodka today as part of a gift for my daughter on the recommendation of my son. He said it is also excellent with Fresca for an easy drink!

Bellini with real peach.

French 75, Aperol Spritz (summer), G&T (summer), Negroni, Margarita

Nothing with vodka. Ever.

For you gin lovers, try Bar Hill Gin made in Vermont with honey.

Ketel One Gimlet straight up…

@sherpa That’s a Skinny Margarita recipe, they’re phenomenal. I purchased a vintage Ebaloy juicer when I started making Margaritas this way.

@katliamom my vote is for a peach fuzzy. I haven’t had one in years…and I’m not sure the proportions.

Ingredients:

Peach tree schnapps
Vodka
1 packet of daiquiri mix
Two peaches…cut the peaches off the pit, but do not peel.
Ice

Put it all in a blender (I’d use a magic bullet now) and pulverize. It’s a great treat. Use very rip peaches.

Peony Vodka

Pina Colada, Amaretto Stone Sour, Peach Bellini.

I’ll freeze watermelon cubes and put them in champagne or prosecco sometimes. It’s very refreshing.

Tonic and gin with cucumber is a very good summer drink too.

@thumper1 That peach fuzz sounds amazing… and I live in a state with the best peaches on the planet. (And no, not Georgia: Better!)

@1214mom I like wine, I don’t drink beer at all. Will try your concoctions, thanks!

@Midwest67 intrigued by Truly Spiked & Sparkling – will look for it!

@ChaosParent23 , your sangria sounds delicious. I’m glad to know that frozen fruit is okay, too. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

@katliamom now that I think bout it…I think it used four peaches…and a shot each of the schnapps and the vodka. Made two drinks.

I’ll second @Midwest67 …Truly’s are my new summer drink. Love trying all the flavors (black cherry, raspberry Lime and grapefruit!). White Claw (grapefruit; lime) and Smirnoff (cranberry-lime, white peach rosé) also have delicious spiked seltzers. Also tried Bon & Viv’s seltzers…not a fan.

I like that they are 90-100 calories each…and under 5% alcohol.

I like most of them, although the older I get the less I like the ones that are overly sweet. I will sometimes ask the bartender to skip the simple syrup, for some drinks that works, for others not so much.

Right now I’m drinking a lot of old fashioneds. I usually make them myself unless I’m in a good bar. Usually they come with a cherry (not great), or way too much club soda (very bad). I just use a bit of sugar, wet it with bitters, then put on a bit of bourbon and swirl it around until sugar is mostly dissolved. Then I top off with more bourbon. If I’m feeling ambitious I will sear an orange peel and drop that in. Then just a splash of club soda.

Summer is coming, so I tend to drink a lot of vodka and club soda. Very refreshing minimal calorie. I usually don’t use cucumber vodka, but instead have them shake it with a couple cucumbers and garnish with a lime.

But if I’m being honest my drink is usually bourbon or scotch with one small ice cube to cool it off and freshen it up a bit. Easy and always good.

Pomegranate Cosmo.
Though I recently found a place that makes an awesome white sangria, with peach liquor.

One of my fav summer jobs in college was as a cocktail waitress (legal was 18 then,) at resort town. I could smell scotch across the room, when they unscrewed the cap. Didn’t like that.
