What is your favorite food that you love ,even though it is not healthy ?

"Best Dark Chocolate
That would be Dove dark ,those Promises at most grocery stores "

-Not by me. Chocolate is my first breakfast every single day. I can have only Lindt 85% or Ghirardelli 86%. And then I add tons of Ghirardelli un-sweetened powder chocolate to my coffeee. After that I cannot have any other kind, it just not the same. I have tried 90%, way too strong and 70% is way too sweet, not enough chocolatee taste. But I do not consider my chocolate as NOT healthy. It makes me happy for the rest of the day…that is plenty good for me

"because it is so expansive.
Sushi is expansive ? I think it’s pretty tiny ! "

-By me, it might not be expansive by you. 1,95 x 8 = about $16, I consider it expansive dinner that I cannot have every day. I would not do it at home, I would feel safe. We go only to places that we can trust. We have one at home, in NYC and in Cleveland.

I think the point here was that there was some confusion in your post between “expansive” (big) and “expensive” (costly).

I’m confused…you would NOT make Sushi at home…because you would feel safe?

I think for a dinner out $16 is not very much. Plus…if I had NOT paid UG tuition at all, I would have been able to enjoy these treats even MORE often…and sooner.

But I’m sure enjoying them NOW.

Kettle sea salt potato chips. I wouldn’t eat them often except they are what DH stocks for his lunch.:o
I don’t eat chocolate except when it is hormonaly motivated, but it may be healthier, than say, Nuttella.

I thought sushi is healthy. A little rice, a little seaweed, a little seafood & wasabi? What’s not to like?

Sorry for last typo, yes, while some people do sushi at home, I would NOT feel safe doing it myself, I do not know place cheaper than $1.95/peice of salmon sushi.
Again, while UG tuition was not paid by us, Med. School is much more expansive and that is what we are doing now.
In additon to being expansive, I do not like to go out at all. I like to be at home. It would be nice if I have enough to have dinners served at home, but I do not mean pizza.

Pretty much anything salty → ham, creamed spinach, french fries

or

Prime Rib

I never had a sweet tooth, so sweets and chocolate could go bad in my house before I’d finish them. Once I married and had kids that was never an issue, but before that it was.

That Nutella suit is ridiculous. What fool (sorry to anyone who actually THOUGHT this) believes that Nutella is a health product?? I LOVE LOVE LOVE nutella (as I mentioned upthread). But also registered to get a few bucks back on this ridiculous lawsuit. Then I can spend the $$ on more nutella!!

Miami-- the word for costly is expEnsive, not expAnsive. The substitution makes for amusing typos and double entendres.

Brie cheese on french bread

Has anyone had their chocolate with BACON BITS ? Pricey ,but amazing . Available at Whole Foods .

buffalo wings

There are risks if the seafood is raw. And I suppose some might criticize the use of white rice, although that is a much lesser issue.

Favorite lunch: BTL sandwich made w/

toasted Challah bread
crispy bacon

real mayonnaise
romaine lettuce
thinly sliced tomatoes

potato chips, Kosher pickles and Mexican Coca cola

Coconut. Coconut cake, especially. Also coconut ice cream. It has very little in the way of redeeming nutritional value and tends to get put into recipes with the really bad stuff. The older I get the more I love coconut!

Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and thick cream gravy over all.

Compared to the stuff that is probably in any food product, pink slime anyone?
Having sushi at a good sushi restaurant, IMO, is low on the risk scale.
Assuming you aren’t wanting to eat fugu, or are expecting good sushi at a truck stop.;)

Ice cream.
Especially the high fat kind, although I also like gelato.

I love blts tutu, but I also like tomato & basil sandwiches, tomatoes warm from the sun of course.
& French dips.
Unfortunately anything with bread that isn’t gluten free is on my “don’t eat unless you want a stomachache list”
I have made bread that is gluten free & it is edible, but hardly mouth watering. :(

ek4 is right. You need to know the guy who buys the fish. Or at least know the guy who knows the guy who buys the fish. Favorite “probably bad for me” sushi treat are the fried shrimp heads.

We’ve occasionally had brown rice sushi. Its slightly different than when made with the traditional sticky sushi rice, but maybe a tad healthier?

"I thought sushi is healthy. A little rice, a little seaweed, a little seafood & wasabi? What’s not to like? "
-…A little Mercury… is not very healthy, it is poisonous. Rice is not big consideration as you can have sushimi - no rice, which is my preference, might not be available everywhere though.

sewhappy,
OMG, COCONUT ice cream in Mexico is to die for, I even gave up my favorite chocolate ice cream for that one. But all ice creams are much better in Mexico, at least at resort that we usually stay. It cost me 8 lbs, still working on them, I hope by our next trip I will be done with them.

I make my own Sushi or Nori rolls . The rice sweetener makes or breaks the quality. I like to coat them with gomashio (salt and sesame mix). I also make wasabi from powder, which is better than the pre-mixed stuff. Then, you can make sure there is nothing in it that isn’t edible!
