What is your favorite food that you love ,even though it is not healthy ?

Well, the OP actually says, “What is your favorite food that you love , even though it is not healthy?”

Ice cream is #1 (I can eat large quantities at a time.) Also love pizza.

Yes to coconut!

love Almond Joy bars and my mom’s Italian Cream Cake which is very rich and has coconut and pecans.

I thought participating in this thread would help with my food cravings. Surprise, it hasn’t!

Today I bought my husband a cherry pie, and I have eaten half of it!

Research shows the best way to prevent food cravings is to block opiate receptors in the brain.

Has anyone tried that?

Really tasty homemade macaroni and cheese, made with a sharper flavored cheese(particularly Beechers). Very nicely browned, I’ll go for almost burned, with a sprinkle of bread crumbs on it. I’m not even hungry and I’m starting to salivate.

And a thin crust authentic Italian pizza.

Or really good spaghetti bolognese.

All of this coconut talk – has me remembering the cake my grandmother made every Sunday – it was Grandpa’s favorite. Grandma made it w/o a recipe and never measured the ingredients, but amazingly it always tasted the same. It was a white cake (light and moist) with a pineapple filling and a buttercream coconut frosting. In the summer Grandpa would make old fashion ice cream (vanilla, chocolate or butter pecan). Wow, the memory brings tears to my eyes. … how I miss them and that Sunday after supper treat.

I was a hero to my kids when I let them have ice cream for breakfast one morning during a particularly grim and competitive music camp. (I especially liked the dirty looks I got from some of the other parents.)

Jim’s Steaks…oh yeahhhhh! (#39)

Lately, sweets don’t do it for me like they used to. Salt, yes. And everything my doctor tells me to avoid…

I bought hubby a smoker for christmas. He bought pork belly from the butcher and now smokes his own bacon! I joke that it’s darn near a health food since there are no nitrates or preservatives.

Paula Deen has the best recipe for coconut cream pies. I’ve made it twice now and it’s just heaven.

Chicken wings with extra blue cheese.

Brie cheese warmed in the oven with the breadsticks around it and honey and almonds.

We are homemade cooks for the most part but I admit every once in a great while I’ve been known to eat velveeta mac and cheese with bacon.

Raisin and cinnamon english muffin with melted butter.

An Outback blooming onion. A juicy, rare steak. A chocolat hot fudge sundae. A piece of cheesecake.

Haven’t had any recently. A steak once in a great while. The others, it has been years.

I wish you hadn’t said that.

those Powdered Sugar Ball cookies that I only seem to make around Christmas…those really should be a year-round treat. Why the December limit???

:)

When I was a little girl I entered a town cherry pie eating contest. I ate like 5 pieces in a half hour. The winner ate 27. Not even close. Ugggh. To this day I can’t stand eating anything with cherries in them! :D

When I was a HS student, I (almost) won an unoffficial ice cream bar eating contest - on a dare. I think I ate 9 1/2, my friend won by eating 10. We both had to be sent to take a hot shower and than we sat for a couple of hours under heavy blankets (it was July!)… Never again! But I still like ice cream. My current favorite are Magnum dark chocloate covered vanilla miniature bars. At 150 calories each, thay are not that unhealthy! ;)

I love carrot cake which sounds healthy but is about the most calorie dense cake around. I love it with pineapple and – of course! - coconut in the batter. Sometime I make it in muffin tins and don’t put on the cream cheese frosting and eat them for breakfast.

Raclette! Raclette!

Chicken satay–coconut/peanut sauce over grilled chicken and brown rice.

Thanks for the nutella link. Not a health food? Shocked, shocked.

Southern Fried chicken done properly, marinated in buttermilk and fried in a cast iron frying pan the right way, in lard…

Fried Oyster Poh boy sandwich, another classic.

Mom two college kids, I want some!!! I’ll pm my address, jk, no really!!!

Archway makes a sugar coated round nut cookie. I can only find them around here at Christmas time. I served them at an open house one year and this guy went on and on about how my cookies tasted just like his mother’s. I gave him my recipe.

mom2collegekids … yes, those round cookie balls! Those are amazing … lots of them. I could eat these for breakfast if no one was looking.

I have a few things that I love eating, but as I near the half century mark realize that my body is reminding me that sometimes I over do it:

1) I used to love Muir organic salsa with high quality tortilla chips with melted cheddar until I learned I have early acid reflux symptoms.

2) And did you know that if you eat too much Ben & Jerry’s in one sitting you could suddenly learn what lactose intolerance feels like even if you aren’t?

3) And my latest bad thing … chewy sweet tarts … either the little balls or the fifty-cent size pieces. (Talk about acid reflux overdose though …)

Fortunately I do love a delicious salad along with steamed broccoli and freshly grilled salmon with wild rice, too, so I know what tastes great and is also good for me. However, there are so many other things people listed I’m going to try. Yummy.
