“Oh my god. I’ve just entered the real world. Welp.”
Honestly though, I had thought that I was pretty advanced and set to go to a decent college, but after seeing how much higher everyone else was in the academic and extracurricular spectrum, I felt really intimidated. But I know that trying my best is more important than feeling the pressure of competition. Education is about advancing yourself, not racing against others.
The website itself is really helpful. I’m the first person to go to college in my family, so I didn’t really have any nearby guidance on what sort of things I needed to do in order to get into a decent college. I found this website a couple months ago, and it helped me with stuff ranging from planning a well-balanced schedule to figuring out which majors I wanted to pursue.
COMPETITION!! ARE THESE PEOPLE HUMANS?
And this is just my first day. I am utterly befuddled by the overachieving nature of the average American teenager.

Don’t be fooled – the average American teenager has no idea that College Confidential exists, much less that other people spend so much time on it. It’s a self-selecting population.
“I wish my parents were as involved/knew as much about the college process as the parents on here.”
@ninemuses Same, my parents are really supportive but we immigrated to the USA two years ago, so they only know what I tell them.
