What kind of watch do you own?

I’m in the market. My ESQ by Movado no longer works, so bummed. It was a “cheaper” line of movados and I got it at Macys for $375 on sale. I’ve received lots of compliments on it.

So, I’m looking in that price range. I see lots of Bulovas, Seikos and Citizen watches I like. I also see a few Coach and Michael Kor watches, but am wary of those types. I always thought of Citjzens as “cheap”, but maybe they’e not.

I sold the ones I had and now just use my phone to see what time it is. Are you looking for a basic watch or a fashion watch? I used to like Swatch for a fun watch. For a dress watch, I just checked on Amazon and they seem to have a variety of styles. What happened to the ESQ one? Battery just died?

Battery died a few years ago. I started to have the battery changed each year, to 6 months, and this last one only lasted 2 weeks! I like fashion watches. Two tones, larger face. i haven’t started looking yet except online, but I really like this one, more than I want to spend. But maybe I’ll hold out. Lots of pretty Seikos, but I love this one.

I just received a new watch for my birthday! It replaces my trusty old Timex. My new one is an Invicta. It’s gold with an ivory band, and the face is nice and large. I don’t usually go for fashion watches, but I love this one!

I have several Brighton watches. I like the simple styles.

I have a Movado that I have had for about 18 years…but I haven’t worn it lately

I have the traditional Movado (the very slim one with the black band.) It has to be at least 35 years old. I’ve had to replace the band and the battery several times. I don’t wear it nearly as much as I used to because I almost always have my phone with me.

I almost bought a very pretty Gucci watch last year on sale for $600 but decided against because I’d probably not wear it much either.

I have a fitbit blaze. I own a few regular watches, but I just don’t wear them anymore.

Amazon has a TON of bands that you can swap the face into. MUCH cheaper than the fitbit branded bands (which are ridiculously priced).

I have a Citizen’s Eco Drive. I don’t see it in their current catalog, but something like this one: http://www.citizenwatch.com/en-us/watches/watch-detail/?model=EW0894-57D

I’ve had it maybe 8 years and it’s never given me any problems. No battery either.

Oohhhh…I like that a lot! That is what I’m looking for, many of those available. The one below is almost identical to the one I have, except mine is silver around the face not gold? I’d like more diamond or crystals on a new one, maybe even a bigger face. I think they call mine a mini-boyfriend size.

+1 on the Citizen eco-drive. Had mine for years without problems and love not having to replace the battery. It looks nice enough that I rarely wear my “good” watch (Raymond Weil) anymore.

I wear a $12 Timex. It tells time just as well as the Gucci’s or other very expensive watches. It can be dunked under water or hit by a tennis ball and keeps on ticking.

My Raymond Weil gave out, too, before I bought the ESQ. I loved that watch, also. I think I’m jinxed. That was my first “good” watch.

That’s how I feel about sunglasses. I’ve lost both my Prada and Coach in the last year, yet the cheapos I bought at a thruway rest stop years ago I still have.

For 15 years or more I had a titanium Citizen eco drive and loved it. No battery. But then it died and my watch shop said it had perhaps come to end of life. I had hoped to take that watch to my grave.

I was not willing to pay the bucks for another, and the non titanium are a bit heavier. So now I have a big faced and light Skagen. The first one literally fell apart, so I returned it to Macy’s for another just like it.

I had a relic gold and silver tone watch but it stopped working and I’ve since been using my phone to check the time. I bought a cheap replacement watch in Taiwan but it is really too big for my wrist.

I have 2 Fossil watches, and one Timex.

My wife wears a Burberry two-toned watch and has had it probably 15 years. Bought it for her at Nordstrom (not exact, but kinda like this one).

I also have the traditional Movado watch. I just love it. It was a gift from my mother. I was lucky enough to get a replacement band at a Movado outlet a few years ago. I am however looking for a more casual watch to wear in the spring/summer. I had a skagen that I loved that I bought in Lord & Taylor a few years ago with a mother of pearl face but it was dropped a few too many times and is beyond repair. I was actually looking at the casual watch page in the Nordstrom holiday catalogue and there are a few nice looking inexpensive ones. Actually I mostly use my phone to check the time but I do still enjoy having a watch.

I have a Citizens dive watch. Never gone diving with it but no issues with swimming. Its solar so no need for batteries or winding. Can leave it in a drawer for 180 days and it would still run (so they say – never tested that because I wear it every day).
