What looks better UC's ? CC class or Cosmos?

Next summer I will either be doing the COSMOS summer program or taking a college level course at a community college nearby AND doing hospital volunteer work. Which looks better?

Hospital volunteer work is so overused. You might want to think of something else.

I don’t know which would look better on college apps, but I attended COSMOS last summer, and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. SO much better than a CC class and volunteer work. I would definitely recommend doing that, if that’s an option for you. It’s amazingly fun, you meet some great friends, and you might end up learning something along the way as well.

I really want to join COSMOS; however, I am not sure if this looks the best on college admissions ;/

In my opinion, you should do what you want to do, not what you think looks best on a college application. Summer is a long time, and you don’t want to spend it doing something you don’t enjoy just to put it on your applications. COSMOS won’t look bad on your apps… it may not be as prestigious, but it could possibly make for a great essay.

hey, personally, i don’t think colleges want a kid who does everything specifically for college apps. if you’re one of those kids, i can almost guarantee writing those app essays will be loads harder, since you have no drive or passion for things. do what you want, absorb all the experience, and enjoy it! you’re still a kid. stop worrying about getting into a “prestigious” college. you’ll experience college later. you can transfer to different colleges. if you do what you like, if you do it well, and you have a lot to say about what you do, then colleges will LOVE you. don’t worry about what looks better.
