What major is best for me?

I am currently enrolled in college unhappy with my major. I am taking mechanical engineering but I don’t think it’s right for me. Most of the people taking this major don’t have a great social life because this major doesn’t allow for much free time. The people with this major enjoy taking all the math and science classes within the curriculum. I originally wanted to take mechanical engineering because it is the best major for someone who wants to be an automotive designer. I really just want an automotive career that I can fall in love with, with a major besides mechanical engineering. I was thinking maybe a car salesman and then working my way up to owning my own dealership later on. I understand that salesmen don’t need degrees but do you think it would be worth it to get a business degree for it? I still would like to say that I have a college degree and experience college life, I don’t want to jump right into my career. Is there also any other careers that you think I may like involving cars that have a major that is more attainable? I’m willing to put in the work and energy I really just don’t think taking engineering will be worth it later on for me and I’d like to take a major that I feel is. Thank you for the help in advance.

Personally, I would stick with the engineering. The people I know who have succeeded in the car retail businesses haven’t had a weekend off in 20 years. A very demanding and high pressure job. For some automotive career ideas check out http://www.sae.org/
