I kept waiting for something to HAPPEN. What a dud!

It was really anti-climatic after all the intensity…left some curiosity for next season , but went out with a fizzle

It was a fizzle.

I appreciated how they worked the real life death of James Rebhorn into the plot. He played Carrie’s (and Maggie’s) dad Frank Mathison in the show and died in March of this year. Their grief in the show was real and the funeral also seemed almost real.

While I also found the season finale a dud; reading the reviews in some of the major newspapers online, give me a better glimpse into what the writers might have been trying to get across. My migraine also did not help my viewing last night, so I might have missed a few key points ;)

Not the most exciting show ever…

I had a strange feeling that Peter Quinn’s truck would explode after he left Carrie (after they kissed). Nope!

There just seemed to be so little drama - even with all the mama drama. Not even a sign of the ambassador’s bad husband on TV being charged with espionage in the background. Not even Brody’s (other) kids showing up, looking at that little redheaded baby and trying to kill Carrie. Well, there are certainly a lot of loose ends to bring back next season.

Here we are, almost a year since the last post.
This season started off really slow for me; now that it’s almost over, I’m cursing them for ending so soon! It has certainly taken a turn for the better.
I don’t watch it any more and I still get Showtime. (now that I am not in it… LOL!)
I just found Homeland a few weeks ago . . . am totally addicted. Already in Season 3.
I love Homeland.
Great show…probably the best on television right now.
Peter Quinn better survive. That’s all I’m saying.
I don’t ever remember a character so consistently getting physically abused as Quinn has this season (well, except maybe Jesse in Breaking Bad).
You almost want to turn your head every time they come on screen because you know something bad is going to happen to them.
Last night’s show was really intense !
@SouthFloridaMom9 - season 3 was the worst! Stick with it 4 and 5 are great and well worth it!
^^ha ha I’m still liking it! But thank you!
It’s really not a great time to be in a hulu binge.
I like Astrid. And the nefarious Otto who is trying to edge out Jonas.
The last few years have consisted of watching Homeland to get me through the fall because then you have Christmas, then Downton Abbey starts, so I didn’t mourn Homeland being over for long. (does anyone know if it’s been renewed for another season?)
I definitely enjoyed the show more when we binge-watched it (the first two seasons) - sometimes the layers are so deep, I forget from week to week all the plot lines. When you’re binge-watching it, it’s easier to remember all that happened in the previous episode, so I spend a few minutes trying to get up to speed.
^^^ @teriwtt , yes it is coming back for another season
