Haha, I don’t know. But this WAS the same kid who gleefully told me (a complete stranger) about wrecking multiple cars drag-racing drunk and how he got a speeding ticket for going 93 MPH. Charming, huh? If I had to guess, I would say that he was just incredibly lazy and somewhat stupid, haha.

Oh, but in regards to the first post on page 5, I don’t think it’s strange for community college students to wear big-name schools’ gear. I think a lot of times, that’s where they want to go once they get their generals out of the way/get their two-year degree, so it makes sense, in a way.

^I agree. Lots of people wore big name college gear at my CC, and that was because that was where we were going afterward. I wore my umich sweatshirt all the time. If high school kids can wear college gear, I fail to see the problem.

That was me :). Good point, never saw it that way.

As for the other kids, I haven’t had the pleasure of spotting any “furries” or cape-wearing nerds yet. [Augie from the movie “Role Models”](<a href=“Daily Geek News Videos - UGO”>Daily Geek News Videos - UGO) comes to mind.

Sometimes I’ll wear a Fighting Illini or University of Chicago shirt just to display a bit of regional pride in a sea of NYers. I have no interest in UIUC or UChicago and I’m sure no one cares.

I actually like wearing other colleges shirts within my first few weeks of class. Bust out a Texas shirt and then a random person from class will ask me if I’m from Texas and then we’ll talk for a few minutes. Shirts from other college can easily become conversation starters.

i think its fine to wear a shirt of a team you grew up as a fan. like schools from the persons homestate, or in my case notre dame. i’ve been a nd fan always, but i didnt bother applying cuz i couldnt get in. im still gonna wear nd shirts and be a fan, especially since the school im going to is D3 so i wanna have a big time program to root for. i will still probably wear the shirt from a college i considered going to, but more just to workout in and hang out in

Yeah at Vandy, it’s not weird when people wear college t-shirts from their home state, but I always get a little confused when people wear Emory/Rice/Wake/Yale/Harvard/etc. shirts around. It feels like they’d rather go to a peer school; even if that’s true, no need to broadcast it.

Good suggestions: Polo, Lacoste, Brooks Brothers.
Almost everything I wear is Polo, except for my dress shirts and jeans. (and athletic gear).

Don’t wear high school brands: aeropostale, hollister, abercrombie, american eagle, etc. People walking around in Hollister t-shirts really look ridiculous IMO. And people wearing A&F are just wasting their money, you can buy decent clothes (e.g. Polo) for almost the same price!

^ Seconded. Quality over quantity. Plus they’re clothes that can translate from your collegiate years to the workforce, so you’re getting a lot more wear out of your clothes.

My best friend from middle school/high school/early college flatly refuses to wear ANYTHING that isn’t from American Eagle, and even got a job there so he could get a clothing discount. He recently went through my closet and was critiquing all my clothes and started saying that I really needed to go to American Eagle to get a new wardrobe, and I said that while I occasionally find a shirt or something in there that I like, overall their style is a bit too teenybopper for where I am at right now. He was furious and we are not friends anymore, I kid you not.

Buying low quality overpriced clothing is what’s “the lamest thing ever”.

Seriously, $60 for an A&F polo shirt? I can buy a real Ralph Lauren Polo shirt for $40 at their factory store. It’s clothing you can wear for years. You don’t see many 25 year olds wearing A&F unless they work there or are pedophiles, or really REALLY don’t understand fashion.

idk dont be cheap and buy nice clothes. I mean ANF, lacoste, polo, ed hardy, express, calvin klein and brands similar to that. IDK I feel like if you wear aeropostale, your just giving off a really bad image of yourself (cheap).
