^hahhahaha
the quality is cheap

I don’t care if someone wears A&F, AE or any of the other high school brands as long as their clothes don’t have huge logos, stupid slogans, holes, fraying or anything else that looks really tacky/cheap/obnoxious.

My favorite brands are Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Gap, Lands End, Levis, LL Bean and Saucony. And I’m buying my dress shirts tomorrow from Jos a Bank…2/40…heck yeah.

Unless you happen to be Jon from “Jon and Kate + 8” don’t wear Ed Hardy. It’s effectively a badge of honor for d-bags.

The core staples of my wardrobe are from H&M, UrbanOutfitters, and Gap. Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, etc. are a tiny bit too New England for my style but I’ll occasionally wear them.

I think it’s also a good idea to mix up styles. For example a cardigan and Topsiders might make you look like you’re ready to board a yacht on Cape Cod, whereas the exact same cardigan with a pair of Nike Dunks looks a lot fresher imo.

good stores are express, h&m, some stuff from urban outfitters (a lot of is just stupid and overpriced), j. crew (pretty expensive but they have good stuff), banana republic, gap, and levis. i dont like american eagle generally, but im real tall so its hard to find shorts that arent realy short anywhere else. even then i just buy pretty plain basic shorts. the problem with stores like lacoste, j. crew, and polo is not shopping isnt necessarily being cheap, cuz those stores are really expensive and only get stuff from their as a gift.

^I agree Urban Outfitters has become silly and expensive but a few years ago you could find tons of nice things on sale, especially online. Not so much the case anymore.

thats very true. they’ve kinda taken the hipster thing to far, and half their stuff doesnt fit me although im a big guy. their sale stuff is **** no one wants, and its pretty obvious cuz its normally really wierd stuff. a decent amount of their t-shirts you prob cant wear in public, or you shouldnt wear just anywhere.

So am I the only one who shops at stores like wetseal, forever 21 and Ross, TJMaxx and the like? lol

i like kohls, they have some nice stuff.

"Why no skinny jeans? "

because we wanna make sure our testicles don’t get compressed

Anyway my favorite brands are Gap, Old Navy, Patagonia and Marmot. ON’s for when I’m broke, Gap’s for when I’m not broke, and Patagonia and Marmot are good for winter clothes. I also wear band t-shirts, ah yes lots of band t-shirts.

As for shoes I’ve always worn running shoes, they’re so damn comfortable. Usually adidas although I currently wear a pair of Asics.

“Unless you happen to be Jon from “Jon and Kate + 8” don’t wear Ed Hardy. It’s effectively a badge of honor for d-bags.”

I would like to add Affliction and Tap Out shirts. If you are not a trained MMA fighter who could kick my ass at a moments notice, just don’t wear them. You just look like a d-bag.

Whoever follows what’s being said in this thread has to be one stupid robot. Do what you want. Wear what you want.

I’m going to continue to wear my skinny jeans. I’m going to continue to wear my t-shirts. I’m going to continue to wear my nikes and converse. I don’t care if no one doesn’t “approve” or like it. Like the old saying goes, “you could please some of the people some of the time but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.” People are so hyprocitical and judgmental; exactly why I dislike people.

i was waiting for someone to say that

I’ve been wearing Marc Ecko Cut & Sew since it first started…still have tagss on many shirts

I cringed when I saw F21. I never understand why anyone would shop there or why it’s so popular. The clothes are made cheaply, the shirts are ridiculously thin, the costume jewelry I bought a long time ago from their online store arrived shattered and broken in the mail. And not just one piece but all if them. The stuff that did survive was easily bendable and breakable. After shopping there twice and getting cheap crap (fool me twice, shame on me) I never went back. And trying to get a refund from that store was like pulling teeth. Because I bought it from their online store–which says you can return in-store–the manager at the store I went to practically gave birth to a demon seed over it.

I usually shop at Anthropologie/Free People, Top Shop, Barney’s, Nordstrom.

TJMaxx usually does have awesome steals. I’m constantly in there looking for stuff. Marshall’s is ace too.

Also, why does most of F21’s clothes come attached with accessories? Like a necklace sewn on to a shirt.
Or a belt that’s practically stapled on to a dress? I get if the belt were removable–but they damn near Krazy Glue it on.

I find that weird and kind of cheap/tacky.

^i couldn’t agree more. it ruins the entire piece. i also hate the shirts at f21/wet seal with the stretch band on the bottom.

Plattsburgh- the clothes at F21 may be made cheaply, but I’ve gotten two really great dresses there essentially for dirt cheap (both were in clearance, and I’ve worn one of them to two or three formals).
(My favorite is essentially just a little black dress. Nothing tacky glued on)

I shop at places where I can get a lot of good stuff for cheap. Rue 21, Kohl’s, H&M, etc.

I went shopping and got a whole new wardrobe for college at just a few of those stores. I now have all the clothes I’ll need for a LOOOONNNNGGG time. Tons of T-shirts, dressy shirts, jeans, shorts, shoes, jackets…

They had stuff on clearance at Rue 21 for $2/$3/$4/$5 dollars, including jeans.

A&F, Hollister, F21, and all of those stores are overpriced and their clothes aren’t exactly “the highest quality imaginable.”

I prefer a wide variety for a cheap price.

As for what not to wear at college, it’d be nice not to see leggings for pants. That always makes me cringe. >.<

I’m not a fan of Forever 21 but their selection has gotten much better whereas before, it was the perfect place to shop… if you wanna look like a 99-cent whore.

A lot of my wardrobe consist of attire from H&M, Banana Republic and stacks of Polo shirts since I used to work at a Polo Outlet (30% employee discount). It was pretty sweet.

You aren’t alone, I love hunting for good deals and steals at consignment stores. :)

whats with all the hate for affliction and ed hardy? you might look like a dusch bag but atleast you wear nice clothes.
