Ed Hardy and Affliction aren’t the only nice clothing in existence.

Try Diesel, Acne, John Varvatos, etc. if you want better quality (men’s) clothing.

diesel is sooo expensive though. seriously, i would love a pair of diesel jeans but the cheapest ones are $150, and most of them are $200+. i like levi jeans a lot, but i mean the ones at the levis store. their like 50 or 60 dollars, but they have all kinds of fits, colors, and sizes.

I do go to those “high school stores” when I need some jeans or a swimsuit. Other than that, I don’t shop there much at all.

Ed Hardy is good quality clothing but I don’t want to wear a polo shirt with a lion ripping the head off of a bear with skull and bones in the background.

I agree with everything here except high heels. There is nothing wrong with wearing high heels if you’re comfortable in them and don’t have a ton of stuff to carry. My classes were always pretty spaced out, so I often would only have a notebook, a textbook and my purse with me. Not everyone is carrying a backpack big enough to hold Mt. Everest.

About leggings… I like leggings and look good in them. But they were not meant to be worn AS PANTS. If your cooch is showing with your leggings… then it really IS showing (if you know what I mean). It doesn’t matter how thin you are. I am 5’10" and not overweight, and I would not wear leggings as pants (without a top that at least goes over the butt and the cooch).

And duh, of course guys are gonna say they love the look of leggings as pants. It means they get to stare at your cooch and your ass all day. They would also like it if you wore stockings or bootyshorts to class. That doesn’t mean you should.

My little sister likes to wear skirts that are so short her ass sticks out the bottom and say, “BUT I AM WEARING LEGGINGS UNDERNEATH.” I don’t get how that’s supposed to be anything but skanky even if you technically aren’t baring skin. Clearly the intent is obvious.

No guy, no matter how hot you are, wants to stare at your “cooch” all day.

^ 5 secs at a time, don’t want to be seen as a creeper

^ I approve this message.

leggings don’t even look that great IMO. i’d much prefer a woman wear a miniskirt or some tight jeans.

forever 21 is generally annoying because there is so much ***** in that place its overwhelming but you do sometimes actually find really cute cheap stuff. it takes a while of sorting through the mess though. also i often find cheap decent jewelry (not broken at my mall…)

also, they opened a new one in time square and its FREAKING HUGE. 4 FLOORS! it’s crazy, and theres actually some really really nice stuff! like super cute and cheap, stuff they don’t have in the other stores (obviously, since theres 4 FLOORS and a MENS and KIDS section!)

haha h&m is like my heaven though. soooo much good stuff, always well priced, good quality. and then urban, anthropologie, lord and taylor, nordstroms, american apparel.

I was on a campus tour at the first day of orientation last year with a group of clueless kids right out of high school who were getting their first look at the university. The tour guide literally just finished talking about how much integrity the student body has and how the university is a wonderful, professional environment to learn and grow in. We JUST stepped off the bus when a very tall, very heavy set girl strutted across the front of the group in 4 inch red patent leather heels and a “dress” that covered neither her chest nor her rear. I try to not judge people by their appearance, but I will never forget the looks of horror and shock on the faces of the students and parents. Wear whatever you want, but please try to not frighten off the poor incoming freshman and their parents.

The Forever 21 in my mall is full of horribly trashy club clothes, but they have a lot of nice dresses and tops online. The stuff I’ve bought there has actually lasted a few years and everything is dirt cheap. I can’t wait to check out the new one in Times Square.

^That story made me cry from laughing so hard. No joke.

Oh gosh, I detest Time Square. I used to live just off it and would take the long way around just to avoid trekking through that site of glittering trash and easily entertained tourists.
A Forever 21 Mecca belongs there.

I feel like the only person who’s never been to H&M or Urban Outfitters before. I should stop in one day.

Ah, yes, the coming F21 in Times Square. I pretty much had to stare at that sign during my senior trip to New York. The whole trip was pretty much “visit historic places real quick then LET’S GO SHOPPING IN TIMES SQUARE!!! WHOOH!!!”

No offense, New Yorkers, but I far prefer a mall or a shopping center.

Times Square was just too much. Too many people. Too much clutter. Too much trash. WAY too much traffic.

I hate large crowds. I could never live in New York City. I mean, I would love to go back for a bit and visit some of the one of a kind stores and museums. But just for a couple days.

-shakes head- I don’t think I’ll ever live in a city. If I have a job in one, I’ll be a commuter, hands down.

Anyway, back on topic.

What is it with large girls and tight-fitting clothing? I’ve seen so many overweight girls wearing tight shirt “dresses” (aka long shirts) and leggings with high heels.

And the thing is, there’s so much stuff they could look amazing in, but they go for the tightest clothing possible.

-shakes head- I mean, you can wear what you want, but I would much rather wear what looks good on me than on the stick-thin models that the “latest fashions” go on.

I haven’t either, plattsburgh. We only have an H&M in the mall I almost never go to, and urban outfitters doesn’t look like someplace I’d shop.

Rixs-- my guess is that they are insecure and are trying too hard (and entirely the wrong way) to be sexy.

I looove Urban, but have yet to ever step foot in H&M. I’ve heard it’s good. Maybe I should try online shopping there.

Alright, I feel better knowing I’m not the only H&M/Urban outsider.

oh i absolutely despise time square. wayyyy too many people, it takes a whole extra 5 minutes to walk a block just navigating between all the tourists. but considering i work in a building whose address is “4 time square” (conde nast) and i wanted to get a cheap dress after work one day, the closest place was the new forever 21 time square, which was suprisingly filled with a ton of nice looking inexpensive dresses.

and you should probably try h&m and urban. urban has been annoying recently because of the ridiculously overpriced things they have, very cute but not good enough quality to be that pricey, but h&m tends be be very well priced for the quality clothing they have. great tops and dresses. really cheap basics along with well priced trendy things. i mean they had teal wayfarer-style sunglasses for 3 bucks today! you can nearly be guaranteed you’ll find something cute and cheap every time you go there.

also, h&m doesn’t have online shopping.
