What Pre-Calc Did I Miss

I was in Honors Algebra II this year when I decided to self-study AP Calculus AB… Now I am going to take Calc II and Multivar at my local university next year, but I won’t take Pre-Calc. I did just fine in Calc AB without it, but what should I look at that I may need in higher level math.

Did you learn polar coordinates, trigonometry (identities, double angle, inverses, etc), sequences and series, conics, and limits.

If you did. You’re fine.

okay I have all of that except polar coordinates and some of the trig, so i’ll look that over. thanks!

Go over the trig and basics like the unit circle, besides that is probably stuff you have seen before anyway.

Going straight from algebra II to calculus is quite a feat. Usually students take pre-calc as a way to refine their algebra skills before moving to calculus. But yeah, pre-calc is basically a repeat of algebra II with some trigonometry thrown in.

Also make sure you look at vectors and parametric equations. Polar coordinates won’t be important until you have to change coordinate systems to do integrals in calc 2 and 3.
