it happens to the best of us. The New York Times has mistakes every day. (I tell you this because I’m forced to tell it to myself very often (: )

My question was: Rosa Parks died on October 24, 2005, 50 years after refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama bus. Though her defiance helped change history, many people don’t have that much power. Write about a time you stood up for something you believed in. Did you make a difference?

It might be a little pessimistic for an app where you’re supposed to brag about how great you are, but the fact is that most people don’t change history…

I like that question…it would definitely show NU how driven or passionate a person is (depending on the situation of course). I wouldn’t mind writing an essay about that. Good job! =)

Stevie Wonder said, Music at its essence is what gives us memories. Cite a song that elicits a vivid memory or feeling and explain its meaning to you.

Mine was something along the lines of:

If you saw into the future and realized that you would ultimately fail at attaining your life’s greatest goal - would you still pursue it? Why or why not?

Name one person you would like to make love to, and explain every detail.

…

Kidding, of course.

Describe a time when your morals, beliefs, or values were challenged. How did you respond, and what have you learned?

Simple but clear.

hahaha, that would have been hilarious stanford_dude.

That’s a good one, Drama-rama, I like it.

Benjamin Disraeli wrote in “Coningsby,” “Man is only truly great when he acts from the passions.” What passions have motivated you in creating the course of your life so far, and how are they going aid you in your journey to where you want to be?

I agree; Drama-rama’s is probably my favorite so far in this thread.

Can you paint all the colors of the wind?

i can’t, but Pocahontas can…

I like that question, I wish that were there this year.

At least one person understood the reference…

right by why is pocahontas being referenced?

…it’s a reference from the disney movie.

props for a good thread cuz that was i think the only part of the application i didn’t mind doing… :P

if i remember correctly, my question was along the lines of"if you had your friends over for dinner, what would you make for them (if you could make anything you wanted) that would say something about you or where you came from?"

mine was: If Northwestern gave you unlimited time and money before starting your freshman year, what would you do?

Mine was simply something along the lines of “everyone has an online nick. what’s yours? why?”

Mahatma Gandhi once said that, One needs to be slow to form convictions, but once formed they must be defended against the heaviest odds. Describe an incident in your life when had to stick to your personal convictions and beliefs in the face of a challenge or a dilemma.

if you could teach a group of elementary school students something of your expertise, what would you teach them, and with what method to engage them?
