We did not have an 8-track at home. He had the radio with the intent to resell it - he’s a post retirement e-bay seller. He took the radio to a local record store and they let him pop in an 8-track tape to be sure the radio worked. It did and it IMMEDIATELY sold the day he posted it for sale. He bought the radio for like $2 and it sold for like $75+ shipping!

What a delightful rabbit hole I’ve fallen into since starting this thread.
Hubby and I just started watching Ponies. First off, WATCH THIS SHOW (Peacock)! I’m obsessed. But secondly, the soundtrack is completely fantastic, featuring a lot of bands already mentioned here, and a bunch of obscure ones too. I had to look up some bands as the music played. Who remembers the legendary Couldn’t Get it Right, by Climax Blues Band, and You Are the Woman That I Always Dreamed of, by Firefall?
And then, this one came on, which I had to google, and yes, it was good old Steely Dan!

I hear this one frequently as it’s on DH’s yacht rock playlist. It’s always 70s in our house/car. I stopped listening to popular music around 1989.

Saw Firefall in concert summer of 2024. It was so good! Because of that I checked out the Best of Firefall CD from the library. Forgot how many good songs they had.
