Which I was very surprised to discover was not Knights in White Satin!
Ummm…Baby Shark.
It was the ONLY thing that would make my 1st grandbaby stop crying. It was right when covid started, we were here main babysitters, she cried a LOT, and the parents fed the addiction. Trigger is not a strong enough word now.
Every song recorded by Barry Manilow.
Back in the 70s, my bass player husband had his own band. They played a lot of parties and weddings.
After a few years, my husband was so sick of wedding tunes. One night the father of the band came up and requested “Feelings” which of course was played ad nauseum in the 70s.
My husband (normally a really kind and agreeable guy) finally just said to the man, “You just can’t pay me enough to play that song!”
I think he disbanded his band and went on to better things shortly thereafter.
The Wheels on the Bus
Easy. Smokey and the Bandit was a huge hit movie and the following year the movie Convoy came out. Very iconic. Both were very fun movies and the songs ran continuously on the radio.
The rendition Heart did at the Kennedy Center Honors is fabulous. I actually like this!
R.O.C.K in the USA by John Mellencamp (Cougar at the time) ![]()
Not my prom/graduation, but around that year in 4th grade or so we did a rhythmic gymnastics routine to that song. Can’t stand that song ever since.
Afternoon Delight
All I Want For Christmas Is my two front teeth, the stupid Hippo song and anything by the Chipmunks.
I saw Starland Vocal Band in person! Willingly. At Six Flags. That song is so schmaltzy, but I have fond memories associated with it. Hey, not THAT kind of memory! I was 13 when it came out.
Thank you for the reminder. I listen to and watch that video regularly but it had been a while. My Monday was just interrupted by 7 minutes of musical genius (the arrangement). (If I’m being honest it was actually 14 minutes.
) Watching Led Zeppelin near the end as they are truly moved and realize “Holy Crap. Heart is doing it way better than we ever could have” is gold.
That song has been my sister’s ringtone for several years now. I can’t stand it, either. ![]()
I love most holiday music, but Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer and Christmas Shoes -yuck!
Living on a Prayer
Another Brick in the Wall
And most anything that was way over played when I was young.
When I first read this thread header, Color My World is what I thought of. I used to really like Chicago, and at one time that song didn’t bother me as much as it does now, but it’s just so… something?
The Terry Kath classic. It’s the one song I can half play on the piano. I love it !!
I think someone said b4 songs that play too much ?
At times that was Carly Rae Jensen and Call Me Maybe.
Don’t love that one.
Can’t stand “tie a yellow ribbon ‘round the old oak tree”. When a friend got married many moons ago, my job was to make sure the band did not play that song.
Oh my this brought back a memory! We played a bad arrangement of Color My World in Junior High band. I still hear it with really out of tune flutes in my mind.
We also played the theme from Hawaii Five-0 which somehow we thought was super cool. But hey, we were 12. And super geeky band kids.
I agree with many of these!
Barracuda (as well as many other Heart songs) make me cringe and change the station.
These Dreams and Never are the only two tolerable Heart songs in my opinion.
Great concert last year !!
i thought you all didn’t like the beautiful Color My World.
For a minute, I though you were talking about the Chicago classic - Colour My World ![]()
Love Elton John - but not Little Jeannie
