What Subscriptions Do You Have?

We cut the cable about a year ago and are still figuring that out:

Hulu/Disney/ESPN bundle
HBO/Max and Apple TV only when there’s something we want to see (you can turn it off and on month to month)
Netflix very basic

Philadelphia Inquirer
Yankee magazine
Local digital paper
far away paper the offspring works for

cancelled the WaPo, do not miss it
let the Atlantic lapse bc it was just too depressing anymore
DH has a digital sub to Wired

i use Spotify a lot but only the free service

Too much I’m guessing. I’d like to hear a description of “subscription “

Netflix
Hulu
Apple

Amazon Prime
Spotify

NYTIMES
AAA (is that a subscription? To me that’s a membership - slight difference)

Google-Gmail storage (cheapest plan)
Apple iCloud storage (also cheap)

HP ink - but work pays for it

Recently ended my subscription to Bon Appetite!

I’m sure there’s more but I’m not getting out my bills to double check

Amazon prime-
one of kids’ student account. Use only for shopping for that student (books, supplies delivery)
Nothing else… except Costco.
Husband has Smugmug… - repository of extended family and friends of photos.

Do you agree with this??

I have
YouTube tv
YouTube music
Google storage

I get fringe benefits from my kids and brother, Netflix, hbo, Disney, etc
I have prime because of Amazon.
I guess I have access to most streamings.

Agree…I support Consumer Reports work…but it’s also the only print magazine I still subscribe to…and I like it.

Re membership vs subscription –

I guess when I posted my list, I was mainly thinking of automatic charges/renewals on the credit card that could get overlooked. So I included both.

I really don’t feel a sense of community from my Costco membership!

Are you still able to share a Netflix account? My son used mine for years, and then when they cracked down he was able to get it on his iPad but not his PlayStation (or vice versa-I don’t remember) for awhile, but then he lost it completely so he had to get his own account. We are able to share several others, though.

Netflix- we still have been able to share with one kid
Amazon Prime
Ny times cooking
Apple TV not sure if we pay or we share with one of the kids
Costco
Cox cable (the most costly)
LA Times

I’m pretty careful about subscribing, or maybe I’m just cheap. I think about Spotify as I use it when I drive with my GS and having the ads is annoying.

Raise your hand if you keep adding to your list when you see other people’s list.:woman_raising_hand:t2:

I also subscribe to NYT Cooking

I took away AAA on the list because of the compelling argument above

Yes, I left out Apple Music and Netflix.

Netflix
YouTube TV with entertainment package
Amazon Prime
Ancestry
Smugmug
Local digital newspaper
Sirius radio
MLB TV

Yes. I am using D2’s account for Netflix and HBO.
I have Youtube TV. My mother lives a block from me and D2 lives 10 miles from me. I am able to add both of them to my account.

With Netflix you cannot have others outside your home with a standard + ads account. With a standard account, you can add a member for an extra fee. Also comes into play how many DEVICES are using the account.

I have a standard with ads account and to move up to standard and keep my daughter I believe it was more $$ than her just getting her own account. This was a couple years ago.

You’re right. I forgot about other plans being able to share and I think I looked into upgrading but decided against it for the same reason as you.

Pay for:
Netflix
Amazon Prime
HBO Max (through ATT phone plan, used to be included, now is a little cheaper than regular subscription)
Apple One (Apple TV+, Apple Music, Cloud storage and Apple Arcade which I’ve never used). Shared by our family of 5.
a weaving (my hobby) digital/print magazine
Microsoft Office

Have use privileges:
My son’s Hulu/ESPN+/Disney account

We subscribe to the NYT, Boston Globe, New Yorker, and The Atlantic (all on line). Have AAA mostly because in my state AAA also offers services that the RMV does (automobile registration, titles, driver’s license renewal, etc.) In fact, I got my REAL ID there because it was easier to get an appointment than at the RMV.

We subscribe to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Brit Box. We share Disney/Hulu with our kids. I signed up for Paramount Plus to watch Yellowstone and then canceled it. We also have Apple TV.

I just remembered I also subscribe to the Meidas Touch substack. So many of the substacks I subscribe to are relentless in their efforts to get people to subscribe to their paid content.
