What summer tv shows are you watching?

I love Suits but was desperately seeking other good shows to watch until September when I discovered Welcome to Sweden on NBC. It’s a comedy written by and starring Greg Poehler (Amy Poelher’s brother). Thoroughly enjoyable, well acted and well written. Any other recommendations?

We watched 24 which just ended this week and it was a very entertaining season. We’re also watching Murder in the First and enjoying that, too. Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex started their new seasons this week but neither is really a show that you want to come into without having watched the previous seasons.

Tyrant, Power, Crossbones, Halt and Catch Fire. All in 1st seasons, all good so far.

Psych is an excellent mystery-comedy series. You can find it all on Netflix or online (HBC I believe)
It’s by far one of the favorite shows I have gotten into, it’s really good!

I’ve been watching Masterchef and 24.

We watch AGT as a family. DH & I are watching Dominion. I am watching Last Ship and The Bridge, and going to give The Strain a try. Youngest used to watch Falling Skies with me but season 4 premiere had us shaking our heads, so we dropped it.
Oh, I am looking forward to the Sean Bean series coming up.
Btw, when I say “watch” it’s really more “dvr” and try to watch later. I’m always lagging behind.

I just finished catching up on Orphan Black on Netflix. Loved it. A new season of Homeland is coming out soon. We are all caught up on (and waiting for more of) Sherlock, Downton Abbey, House of Cards, Lillyhammer, Fargo, Scandal, and Good Wife. I guess we don’t watch much live anymore – just binge-watch a season of one show at a time.

Love Lillyhammer!

We watch Major Crimes. We more or less watch as a family; D1 no longer lives at home (married) calls to discuss episodes. We have Murder in the First waiting for us but so far haven’t watched any of the episodes. I’ve watched three episodes of The Musketeers - BBC America; I like it enough so far but haven’t made any firm decision on whether I’ll keep going with it or not. I watched the first episode of Matador Tuesday night. I liked it, I think - the first 5-10 minutes X_X :http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/robert-rodriguez-unveils-matador-spy-thriller-24511484

I discovered Last Tango in Halifax. I watched the first season on the PBS website and am watching season 2 each Sunday night. Love it!

Lots of good possibilities here…that’s great. If I like even half of them, no-one is going to see me for a while :-)

I didn’t realize that a Season 2 of Last Tango in Halifax existed. I need to catch up on the ones I’ve missed.

We’re watching Fargo and Halt and Catch Fire and enjoying both.

Just discovered The Paradise on Netflix streaming … If you enjoy Downton Abbey, check it out.
Watching The Bridge… Not for the faint of heart and impressed with first episode of Extant.

I am also watching Last Tango. One of my fav shows.

I have Vicious recorded but haven’t watch yet.

I watched 1st epi of The Leftovers. Don’t think it’s my cup of tea.

I didn’t know Last Tango in Halifax was back either…amazon shows 3 episodes available already. Thank you 2VU0609.

Another vote for Fargo, thought it was amazing TV with great acting. Saw the first episode of “Welcome to Sweden” and found it cute. Have yet to watch the last few episodes of “Louie” on my DVR, but enjoying this season so far.

The recommendations from CC for TV series have cost me days of my life - and they have been worth it so keep them coming. I’m watching Major Crimes and Murder in the First. I’m gonna check out Last Tango.

Fargo was awesome. We love the Coen brothers.

Penny Dreadful had a lot of neat ideas and was worth the watch, but I think it prolonged the Vanessa arc for more than it was worth.

Leftovers is different and depressing. Definitely worth a look.

Murder in the First is better than a typical cop show. It’s hard to believe the actor who played Stretch Cunningham is still going strong.

Musketeers has promise, especially Porthos. I’m still looking for confirmation that Howard Charles is related to Craig Charles of Red Dwarf fame.

The Last Ship is good enough to keep watching. I wish I liked the scientist more. Sometimes I think that producers assume the audience will like a character just because the actress is “pretty,” so they forget to give her any qualities that are actually likable.

We used to do Falling Skies and Under the Dome as family shows, but IMO both of them jumped the shark this year.

Amazon is evidently current with Last Tango. There have been 3 in season 2 and 3 more to go. I read somewhere along the way as I discovered the show that Diane Keaton has optioned it for an American version. Can’t wait to see if that materializes.
