I’ve never taken an art class before.
How do I convince the art teacher at my school to let me take AP Studio Art?

you don’t… art is so hard. Take like AP Bio or AP Calc, so much easier to get an A in it than AP Studio Art, art actually requires skill.

If you have past examples of artwork you can bring to your teacher, do that. Have you been doing artwork at home a lot, had schedule conflicts, requirements to finish? Mention that if it applies.

I know a lot of people who don’t take the class but turn in a portfolio for the exam. If you don’t get in, you could always try that.

only thing to do is show her your previous work… which you probably wouldn’t have if you’ve never taken art before.
either come up with something quick, or just take another AP class or (if you’re really interested in art) a regular art class. but i don’t think studio art is the kind of AP that just anyone can do; even for serious artists it’s pretty tough.
